I hear you, I feel the composition is more powerful than the others, and I don't think it would've had quite the same impact in blue

Haha I understand where you're coming from. Initially I was upset about the reboot as well, but comics retcon and start over all the time so I'm willing to see how the reboot goes

Yep, reboot may be interesting, I'm just upset about the fact that all the Batman universe is gonna be changed, no more Dick & Damian as Batman & Robin, no more Steph as Batgirl, no more Red Robin and arg Nightwing with red suit xD. But I hope DC will do something good anyway. Wait and see !

Unfortunately I don't keep up with Batman, so I don't know much about the changes, but this red costume looks spiffy to me!

awwwwh what a bummer. I don't pay much attention to Nightwing, so when everyone started drawing him in red I thought it was just a coincidence... but that's his real design now? Blah. Nightwing was great cause he wasn't all SUPER SRS like Bruce as Batman was... they countered each other's personalities and it made for a great dynamic. But red = blood = dark and brooding plus like what ~neko-bri-bri said about him trying to move away from Robin and become his own person and all that stuff, you'd think red would be out of the question. I AM glad they cut his hair, though, haha. Long hair must be a killer to fight in, especially when you're jumping all over the place.

This is GORGEOUS art, though

I'm on board with this new costume. The red still has to grow on me, but it's well designed.

The thing about the blue was that it fit his theme and backstory so much better. You think night, you think blues, blacks, or dark purples. Blue also seems like a polar opposite of red. At the time, he was attempting to move away from his Robin persona and become his own man. Blue was very fitting. The new colour scheme seems to ignore that, doesn't it?

Besides, Red/Black is edgy; and I'm guessing that's a big aspect of the reboot. Making everything "edgier", "modern", etc.

I dunno why they changed his colors, but both versions of Nightwing are amazing (finger stripes and butterfly neck). By the way, this is a very cool piece. Keep up the amazing work!
