Somehow I don't think this encounter to be straightforward. The body of the creature is hunched over. It's orientation, except for the head, is aligned towards the carcass, or even away from the gunslinger. It indicates the creature has perhaps just noticed the presence of another. The carcass is too large to have been felled with a revolver. It also looks like it's been eaten for a while... so perhaps the gunslinger wounded the animal, and it was actually taken down by something else?
But then, why would anyone hunt in wilderness like this with a revolver? The hand holding the gun is steady. The gun is held low. Relaxed. Calm. But away from the body, as if to draw attention to the piece of glinting metal. This gun is held with malicious intent. By someone who knows that they are more than a match for this... monster.
I love the crispness of line work. Especially with the plants near the water. The contrast is very high, and I like it. :3
