You also agree that, by using this book, you are bound to using Arcane Magic, and this magic only. By flipping through this page and reading the foreword, you are ready and prepared to delve into a world of boredom where you have to read the text and that you are super smart to even read it. If not, then sign the nullification contract behind the book.

Sign here to get started."

Ozwald gains INT equivalent to [Magician's level]. He cannot cast any other magic except for Arcane Magic because he is bound to the agreement of the book.

Active Spells

"Space. Time. Matter. These are the elements that make up the entire cosmos." - Ozwald Flint

  • Arcane Might [Pure Arcane|Buff]
"Arcane Magic is not only utilizing space, time, and matter, but also the fundamental substance which allows magicians to conjure - Magic. Magic is found around Terra, and is free of use for any magician willing to use it. The magic in your environment can be used to empower, defend, or attack.

For those who prefer close combat than ranged combat, the spell, Arcane Might, allows you to harness the mana within you or another person to empower your strength up to a hundredfold. But it's only an exaggeration.

This spell aims to use one's own mana and convert it to strength."

Ozwald utilizes the mana in him or an individual to alter their physical capability, granting STR equivalent to his INT for a period of time. This spell is more potent when cast on self.
    • BRONZE LEVEL
"For starters who has little to no experience, this spell's potency for your current level is below the average potency level of this spell. . To those who will cast it unto others, it will take much concentration to apply this spell to them, as you will be utilizing their mana rather than yours."
      • Effect: Increases his or another persons STR equivalent by [His INT - 3]. Casting it on himself increases his STR by [his INT - 2].
      • Duration: 10 minutes minimum
      • Side Effect/Drawback: The spell does not have any side effects within the minimum duration. However, if the spell exceeds the minimum duration, the affected individual will experience fatigue. An affected person will experience fatigue after the minimum duration. The fatigue will come in weak, but will gradually worsen with each passing minute, until they pass out.
      • Casting Time: 5 seconds (Self); 10 seconds (Another person)
      • Interruption: It would be hard for anyone to break his concentration when he's casting it on himself, but any kind of force (like pushing) will most likely interrupt. If he is casting it on another person, blocking his field of view will also interrupt the casting of the spell.

  • Time Dilation [Arcane - Time|Buff|Utility]
"One way to alter time is by perception, or through their mind. Two words: Time Dilation. In detail, Time Dilation is experienced when someone or something moves fast, making time seem slow. In their mind, everything seems slow. In actuality, they are just moving fast. So by altering their speed, their perception of their surroundings seem slow, aka, they feel as if time is moving slowly for them."

Ozwald, by using the magic around him or another person, alters the speed of an individual or to himself, increasing their/his SPD by a significant amount based on his INT. By increasing an affected person's speed, their mind will perceive everything as slower, thus experiencing Time Dilation.
    • BRONZE LEVEL
"For beginners or to those who have little experience, altering their speed takes concentration. Imbuing an individual you wish to cast this spell on will take concentration, and the effects vary from little to no effect at all. For those of which has some experience, it would take little concentration, however, the effects would be minimal. Casting it on yourself will have a greater effect than casting it on another person as you have to 'tap' on to the magic around them than on yourself. For both kinds casters, the spell would last shorter than expected. But for every spell there is that enhances the capability of an individual, there are side effects."
      • Effect: Increases an affected person's SPD equivalent to [his INT - 3]. Casting it on himself increases his SPD equivalent to [his INT -1].
      • Duration: 10 minutes
      • Side Effect: An affected person's perception of his/her surroundings is slower, making time seem slower, experiencing Time Dilation.
      • Flaw: After the effect expires, the affected person will experience nausea and dizziness. In some cases, the affected person will pass out due to how much they move around. Casting it on himself has double the side effect.
      • Casting Time: 10 seconds
      • Interruption: He would have to concentrate hard on the person he wishes to cast this spell on. It would be convenient for him if they don't more around more often, and prefers that they stand still. The farther they are, the more concentration it takes for him to cast the spell. Such interruptions like blocking his field of view will cancel the casting, or moving him. However, casting it on himself would take little concentration, but a force that would move him while casting the spell will most likely cancel the casting of the spell.
  • Warp [Arcane - Space|Teleportation]
"Space is everywhere. We are surrounded by space. It is up to the caster what he can do to. Space can be referred to as the current plane of our our world, our realm, or the entirety of the cosmos. It can be literally understood as 'Empty Space'. Manipulating Space means one has to manipulate reality.

Such manipulation of reality is the position of two inanimate objects, two spaces, or two coordinates. Casting this spell will switch the places of the two objects. Either one may switch the object with another object, or switch the object with nothing but air, it is up to the caster. Two areas of a specific radii can be swapped as well, but it depends whether the caster can hold it for long or not. Unlike switching two objects, switching two areas can be a bit unstable for reality. It can only be held up for a period of time depending on the caster's experience."

Ozwald manipulates the reality of space, warping the places of two points for a period of time, or warping two objects permanently. If no other object is present, the caster may switch the place of one object with air.
  • BRONZE LEVEL
"Manipulating the reality of space for beginners can be pretty tough, but those with little or some experience have understood the gist of things."
    • Effect:
      (1) Switch the position of two small objects permanently
      (2) Switch the position of one small object with the empty space of one location permanently
      (3) Switch the position of two areas within a radius temporarily (Objects that leave within the affected radius will not be warped back, and objects that enter the affected radius will be sent along)
    • Duration: (1) and (2) Permanent, (3) 20 seconds
    • Side Effect: If liquid is present, the liquid will freeze
    • Flaw: Cannot warp living beings and spells
    • Cast Time: Instant, with a 0.50 second delay after it is cast (leaves a trail of "Fabric of Space" that will fade out eventually)
    • Limitation:
      (1) and (2) Objects as big as a book can be swapped.
      (3) An area within a 1 meter radius is affected by the spell.

[PERSONA]

Personality:

✓ Friendly| ✓ Helpful| ✓ Courageous| ✓ Persevering| ✓ Determined| Clever

 Rude| Shy| Devious| Judgmental| Biased| Harsh| Introverted| Selfish| Picky

He is friendly, but he is shy. He wants to make friends but he can't change how he is now because of his past experience. He'd rather have someone greet him first than him greeting someone first. He helps people when they are confused, lost, or needs information on a given subject. It's a natural thing for him to since he knows something and isn't some arrogant super intelligent being who tramples on the weak minded. He feels like they need it, or even if they only want some information that is not needed, he'd still help. He is courageous, and he tries to do things the other way if it seems easier. He is not afraid to commit a minor mistake, and he uses that mistake to fuel his determination. When things get tough, he uses his imagination, and be clever to pass through the trouble he is in.

He can be a little rude when someone who looks like a bully or rather intimidating tries to befriend him, but it is only a natural trait for him to be rather rude to strangers because of his experience in his previous school. He warms up easily to people who he knows for a week. He is judgmental, but not on how you appear but rather how you act in his perspective. He would give someone a cold shoulder because of how he judges based on what he has witnessed. Pretty biased to be precise. He can be very picky. He likes high quality products and well written literature. He's a very harsh critique, and he might stomp on your confidence. But he is not picky with people. When it comes to revenge, he is pretty devious. In combat, he is a little bit harsh. He would do anything to take his opponent down. His past experience of taking on a bully was carried until now. Because of his past experience, and how he is, he grew up to be introverted. He's selfish when it comes to food. When he sees a someone of his romantic interest, he wants to flirt, but is too shy to do so because of the consequences that might befall on him such as rejection or that they would be creeped out. He can be a little oblivious to changes, or to the recent events due to his focus on the book his reading, and that he is oblivious to someone's feelings.

Biography:
Blackwater City is a city where magic is rare. There are no magic academies within the city, and magicians rarely come here every now and then for a job commission by a resident. Carnivals with real magicians would come to the city once or twice every month to entertain the non-mages. Some magical artifacts are kept within the museum for storage and not for display. Families with potential magicians are rare as 95% of the city's population is composed of non-mages, people who don't wield magic. Ozwald Flint came from a family of businessmen who had no magic within them.

As a child, he was one of the smartest person in class, but they didn't notice how strange he was. He was gifted with a higher intellect than them. He would isolate himself from the rest of the class during break time to read a book. He was fascinated about the creatures roaming around Terra, and the magic lurking about and the magic possessed by individuals known as 'Magicians'. While reading fictional stories, it feels as if he embarked on an adventure with the main character of the story. On weekends, he would spend the rest of the day reading an entire shelf.

His parents aren't magicians and they're just businessmen, but they were blessed to have, for the first time in their family tree, have a potential magician. His great grandfather was a magician, but a fraud. A genius fraud, who tricked everyone and made them think he was a magician. In truth, he possessed no such magic. He used deceptive tricks to make them think he's performing magic. His 'tricks' are stored somewhere within the basement of the house, and it is already quite old to be used. He happened to find his great grandfather's book that talks about perspective and gadgetry, both of which gave rise to his grand illusions and spectacular magic tricks. His father would perform a magic trick in front of him. He is fascinated at the sight.

One night, he was taken to a carnival. The colorful tents gave a bright and wonderful display. He saw many 'Magicians' and Magicians performing within their tents to give the audience a grand spectacle that's worth the wait...and Aurum. On his first day on the carnival, he grew obsessed with magic. He came to each tent to see the magicians perform. Money is not a problem, though. They're rich.

In his school, he would get bullied by his classmates because of his superior intellect, calling him a nerd every now and then and taking his book away, tossing it to other bullies. He is helpless, and he is always threatened. If ever he tells the teachers what they did to him, the bullies will beat him up after class. He avoided the bullies and felt safe within the school library where no noise is allowed. There, he found solitude.

While roaming around the library, he happened to find an interesting book, which contains all the knowledge about a magic called 'Arcane Magic'. He was fascinated at how wonderful this magic is, and how much potential it contains to shape his future, and quite possibly, others. He would read multiple books at once to learn about the magic theory, anatomy, perspective, space-time continuum, and theories in order to broaden his knowledge. He wanted this book so badly. He asked the librarian if he can borrow the book. "That book is a spellbook of Arcane magic. You can keep it. Maybe the book found its way to you." The librarian said. With glee, he thanked her and left the library to attend his next class.

He later grew up to be rather introverted. Having no friends doesn't bother him anymore, but at least he has his books. While he does study arcane magic every now and then he reads fictional books to entertain him. Reading those books makes him feel like he embarks on an adventure with the main character... until he/she dies. He grew up attached to fictional characters and 'feel their pain'. He sometimes cries on a sad or rather depressing paragraph.

In his adolescence, he experimented spells he developed from his understanding of the knowledge of space, time, anatomy, and mind. He used his spells on lesser creatures. He altered their physical strength and perspective of time. He noted the duration of the spell, and their side effects on him. He used this to his advantage. When he was beaten up by a bully again, he gathered his courage to fight back and altered his strength and delivered a powerful blow using a spell he developed. And he was never bothered again.

He wants to know more about Arcane magic. And what better place to learn than a magic school? Unfortunately, there are no magic schools within the city. 5% of the magician population refused to take in apprenticeship, and not one of them are using Arcane magic. He told his parents that he wants to pursue his dream of being a magician. His parents are filled with joy, as their child who is a potential magician wants to become a magician. They fully supported him, and they gave him permission to leave the city to study on a magic academy outside the city.

As he departed, he bid farewell to his parents. His father gave him his lucky rapier before he departed just in case his magic is of no use, and his mother gave him her lucky pocketwatch in order to tell the time.

This is his first step.

He left the city to travel across the lands in search of the finest magic academy.

He has been to multiple cities across Terra, and yet none of them are satisfactory to his standards. He would travel by train or travel by foot. He always carries around his book to entertain him in his travels. While out in the wilderness he would practice fighting with his father's lucky rapier. He bought a book from one city where a majority of their population are masters of the art of fencing. He took this opportunity to study the art of fencing.

During his travels, there's not an instance where he enters a sweets emporium, his favorite spot to visit in each city. He had a taste of the sweets that they offered and was satisfied with their delectable treats. He'd buy a box of chocolates or whipped cream cupcakes before he departs, or just chill inside and ordering some sweets while reading a book. While indulging in his sweets in one city, he heard of a rumor about a train that functions as a magic academy, and it doesn't run on rails or anything. This piqued his interest. He soon departed from the city in search of this mysterious train.

Toil and Trouble's Moonlight Fair

The sun is almost set, and he's getting weary. Still, he continued to journey in search of the rumored train. He did not bother using his magic as he knows well the consequences of maintaining it for a long period of time. He does not want to go through the side effects of his spells while he is travelling. Clock up's not gonna get him anywhere if he's just going to pass out eventually. He can't even constantly warp forward because his Warp only affects non-living objects. So as a precaution, he walks.

The sun has finally set, and only the light of stars and the moon can be seen, and the cold darkness lurks every corner of the land... until a strange light flickered from a distance. More lights went on. Perhaps it is a city? He thought. Maybe he could finally get some rest. As he went closer and closer, the sound of laughter can be heard. He sniffed the air... popcorn? He thought. And when he finally reached the mysterious light, it turned out to be...

"A CARNIVAL!!!" He exclaimed, eyes wide open and filled with excitement. He likes carnivals as much as he likes books. He immediately stormed towards the cotton candy stall, running as fast as Usain Bolt, with an additional 100 SPD, like he ran as quick as the coursing river with boots of mobility and with the homeguard buff. He stood on front of the stall, eyes filled with sparkles as he saw the many colors of cotton candy there is, and the variety of flavors there is. He stood there in awe, but couldn't decide which flavor he should pick. Without hesitation, he chose to buy the 'All-flavors-at-once combo'. The cotton candy stall is his first stop whenever his family decides to get together and go to carnivals.

The carnival is so... strange, yet beautiful. The streets are filled with mythical creatures...? Or monsters? Or mythical creatures dressed as monsters? He does not know, and he does not care. He just wants to enjoy what the carnival has to offer. On one stand, there was a 'test-your-strength' game. Of course, he decided to go and play the game, and used his 'Arcane Might' spell to enhance his physical strength. It took him 3 tries to hit that bell.

So many things to try out in this mysterious fair! He thought. He had fun until he saw something of his interest. It looks like... a train? Maybe it belongs to the carnies, he thought, but he sought out to investigate. He approached the train. He observed the tracks, but there was no tracks! How can a train run without a railway? And then it hit him. Magic. This must be the rumored train that functions as a school.

He sought for the entrance of the train. He took a deep breath.

"Well... here goes nothing."

He took the first step and entered the train. "Hello?" his voice echoed throughout the empty facility.
