I wanted a picture of Matau being awesome, so here is an illustration of a scene you will find nowhere in canon. Maybe it's in one of Matau's daydreams?
For some reason I have the lyrics to A Whole New World running through my head now. I wonder why on earth that could be?

Matau definitely has his charming side--he's just so busy being the comic relief that we never get to see much of it. That, and he's usually too full of himself to even think about being charming.
Why is Nokama so completely oblivious to Matau? If a guy that awesome showed that much interest in me, I would have snatched him up a long time ago. XD There's no accounting for taste.

I know!!! Seriously, Matau's fantastic. Though, if Nokama has any students from the other Metrus (she is a teacher, and it'd make sense if all the young Matoran had to go to school... I guess), she'd probably have dealt with class-clown type students who'd act all flirty like that. But Matau is such a sweet charmer when he gets serious...
