Just something I whipped up in between projects. The Trekkie fanboy in me came out a bit, but I seriously believe that the Federation Friendship-Class Starship is the biggest F*** You to every other sci-fi franchise who wants to look down on Star Trek. I mean, it LOOKS totally alien; like CONTACT (1997) or THE ARRIVAL (2016) type of alien, where their technology is nearly incomprehensible to us 21st Century humans. Like "your current knowledge of the laws of physics doesn't apply to us" type of alien.

I can just imagine the kind of technology they possess, surely adaptive shields, phase-cloaking, and temporal torpedoes that ignore shields, would just be the beginning. The Borg were experimenting with Inter-dimensional tech in the 25th Century, leading to the discovery of Species 8472, the Borg didn't handle that very well. Thus, it is only natural conjecture that the Federation would have develop the technology themselves 600 or so years later in the 32nd Century, perhaps even sooner than that.
