Thanks so much for the critique, I know what you mean about the main focus of the flower is being taken away, and the colours. I can see that the flower seems to be sad as well. I will try to improve in these areas, thanks again!

I really like the colors and the overall composition, but I think it is a little over-saturated. The green colors, especially the darker greens, are very "constant" in their color, and don't change much, as the rest of the colors do. It looks a bit un-natural. The flower is also a little over-exposed, but overall, it's a great photo

Love the colour tone for this one. It's vibrant and fresh. Upon a closer look, I think one area that can be improved is the focus. I would love to see full focus on the plant which will make it really stand out. Currently there is a bit of blur at the top part of the plant. I agree with bhoy, that the brown leaf at the bottem left is distracting. Nevertheless, I think this is a nice composition overall!

I do like this green in this shot it is very vibrant, and looks so alive especially agains the dead brown leaves on the ground. however as stated below I think the focus on the white flower.
The DOF is also quite good and sooo close to being perfect, the only problem is the brown lwaf in the bottom left which again is in focus and slightly detracts from the main focal point on the flower. maybe you could have moved the leaf?.. apart from that the composition is great well done.

The soft tones set the atmosphere beautifully, and the short depth of field, zoomed out to 100mm, gives a wonderful orange glow of a background - simple, with a lovely texture. The contrasting orange and green go towards a masterpiece. All is good, except that the top part of the flower is out of focus ever so slightly - nothing can be perfect, but the flower bud is the main attraction. Overall, Keep up the good work! 8/10

Hi Karel!
I think you captured a nice representative of spring with this snowdrop. The green contrasts well with the brown background of leaves. Especially the green blur at the upper border helps to balance the subject. And the strong saturated colors add to the atmosphere.
Nevertheless, in my purely personal opinion, there are two minor drawbacks. First, I expected to see the blossom in full focus. Instead, here one of the leaves is sharp and the blossom a bit too soft. I guess I would have slightly changed the focal point or increased the DoF by choosing a different f-stop.
Which brings me to the second point. The camera data section of the sidebar states that you shot this photo with a shutter speed of approx 1/1500 sec, aperture 2.8 and ISO 320. So, there was enough light available to decrease the ISO setting and increase the aperture which would have resulted in a deeper DoF. And as a welcome side effect it would have reduced the slight grainy appearance of the photo.
Of course, these are just minor technical details. That being said, I think it's a good photo with a lovely subject which evokes kind of a spring feeling in the viewer (at least it does for me).
