Description
It started out as a doodle in English.... = w =Giotto's kissing an anemone, which symbolizes being forsaken in the language of flowers.
And yes, I'm working on a digital version of this....
Materials used:
HB pencil
4H pencil
mechanical pencil w/ 2B lead
white ink pen
various Crayola colored pencils
I really need to get Prismacolor sometime ; ~ ;

this is one of the most nicely drawn fanart of Giotto! I like it, especially because it's hand drawn in pencil. I dunno... It just show cases more detail and effect. I like it very much!

Erm, well usually I start out by drawing a circle that kind of represents the distance from the forehead to the back of the head, and then I start from the forehead and draw down. It takes a bit of practice, and so I suggest some observation of other artists as well ^ w ^
I myself loooove Amano Akira's way of drawing the profile so my way of drawing it is influenced by her a lot ~

Spiky hair? Don't make too spiky... it's kinda like a gentle, fluffy curve? I might actually do a tutorial on this later on. And there are stray hairs that kinda stick out between and on the side of each major "spike" in the hair... ara, it's hard to explain in words, haha.

Holy shiznizzle, so many comments. Probably means mine is insignificant, but I have to give you props for your color blending on the outside; I know how hard that can be. Did you use a blending stump or something?

No, it's all colored pencil. I kinda did a textured gradient outwards. It took a lot of time, but I think it turned out well! What is this blending stump?

I have to agree; it's very pretty.
A blending stump is like a rolled up, half pencil made of malleable cardboard or something which a lot of people use to blend and even out shading. I don't like them because I tend to lose them, but I suck at blending colors otherwise. They're real cheap though, easy to afford in large amounts.

I'd love to scan it, but I don't have a scanner and my sketchbook is very bulky. I think I'll stick to my camera until I get better luck and funds! = w =

It's a gradient. I start off in a corner somewhere with a bit of a white border and press the colored pencil in really hard to make it dark, and as I go out I make lighter and lighter marks. Other colors are added and I may blend the colors in lightly = w =
