Man, I have so many Underswap headcannons it's not even funny.

SO, I mentioned in an Underswap doodle dump that I thought Papyrus would be a terrible scientist because he knows nothing about the subject but still landed a job at the lab because his ideas were pretty fascinating.
So he works there with Undyne and instead of doing scientific stuff he pranks his co-workers (especially Phil the ficus-licker). What if, when Undyne decides to work with determination on the fallen, he decides to conduct an experiment with it? Instead of monsters that are close to death, what would determination do to a healthy, living monster? I think Papyrus is a risk taker, therefore encourages Undyne to inject him with determination as well, albeit as a secret.
This goes on for a couple months and some interesting and positive results come of it. Things probably went wrong and Papyrus starts melting during a data collecting session. He's hooked up to the DT Extractor, gets most of the determination out, and stops melting (a few drips here and there). Things seems fine but then they realize that the same probably happened to the fallen and hell broke lose.
He quits his job and has some issues keeping his body together (mainly the left side; can't make his eye glow on that side anymore). It's mostly under control, but what if he starts severely melting?
