Meg is unable to fit in the hover car, so he flies alongside the car containing Uriko, Evran, Nate and Korbin. With nothing but time to pass until they arrive at the coordinates that Kate left for them, the men in the car talk.

"Nathan. I know it's been years since we last saw each other, but I still love you and Dakota." Korbin pleads.

Nate’s response is less hostile and more hurt, "Why were you gone for so long, Dad?"

Korbin sighs. He begins to explain to Nate, allowing the years of regret and worry to show as he speaks,

"You remember how every summer and fall that I'd leave town for my other job for a few weeks? Well, after your mother passed, I started working full time. The first two years it was to deal with the loss...and the past two years it's because it something I felt I should keep doin'. I should have kept in touch more, I know."

He takes Nate’s hand into his, “I'm here now, Nathan. I'm trying to fix this now."

Nate leans into his father, "I don't...I don't hate you, Dad. It's just...I honestly didn't think you cared after all this time."

"I do care, Nathan."

Father and son hug tightly as best as they can in the backseat of the hover car.

"I'm so, so sorry for the last four years." Korbin murmurs.

"I'm sorry for gettin' pissed at you."

"I don’t blame ya, Nathan. If I were you, I’d be pissed off too. There's something I should have told you and Dakota YEARS ago. It's about my other job. It’s the reason I know about Detective Fillmore and your friends from Yammutika."

"And that is?"

"I'm with the High Choir. We're a group of government agents in the background handling problems that threaten various nations across Earth. Many of us come from all over the place, and there are even agents from other planets, like your friend flying beside the car outside."

"Meg? But he's a Kaiju from here." Uriko tells him.

"You're half-right, Mr. Uriko. Your friend has Kaiju DNA from Earth, but he came from outer space. He defected from his creator and took residence in Yammutika. Seems Yammutika is a safe haven for those that defect from other planets. No one in here is suppose to know this, but consider one of you is legally dead, the other isn't a citizen of any nation and one of them is my son, it won't hurt that you all know. "

"Wait...who here is legally dead?" Evran asks.

"Blame the federal government for that one. Necromancers are considered "the living dead" by law, so legally, you're dead, Mr. Evran."

"Uhh, so about me?" Uriko asks nervously.

Korbin raises an eyebrow, “Do you WANT me presenting your receipts, Mr. Uriko?”

“...fair enough.”

“Your father actually got Uriko to be quiet; I’m amazed.” Evran gasps. Uriko feigns looking betrayed before bursting out laughing.

“You know...you guys aren’t all that bad. I guess Nathan does have true friends.” Korbin muses.

Nate rolls his eyes in good humor.

“When we get Dakota back, we’ll have all the time to bond. I ain’t going anywhere this time, Nathan. I promise.”

“I’ll hold you to that, Dad.”
