Bio: Rhody (or rather, ASCEND Mark 943-99) was built in response to a devastating attack in America years ago. However, it was deemed a colossal failure and was supposed to have been scrapped by the ASCEND engineer that built him. The engineer, Kanbe Watanuki, was actually a full-blooded demon and had been hiding as a human among ASCEND to escape the supernatural and sexual persecution he endured in his hometown. Fearing that his heritage (and sexuality) would be found out by ASCEND and knowing that he would be murdered for pretending to be a human, Kanbe merged his body and soul into the inoperative ASCEND Mark 943-99. The result was a mutated cyborg that retained all of Kanbe’s memories and abilities. He transformed into a smaller humanoid mutant and fled ASCEND in the dead of night.

Thirty years later, a young, sickly teenager named Satoshi Soyuki was taking a short-cut home from the hospital when he accidentally stumbled upon the broke Kanbe. As he was currently using a wheelchair, Satoshi placed Kanbe in his wheelchair and pushed him all the way to his shoddy apartment that he shared with his older sister. He spent days repairing the humanoid creature, unknowingly reviving Kanbe’s soul. He became drawn to the kind young man, and greatly desired to help him and his sister Aisa (who reluctantly allowed the young man to keep him). Upon repairing the mutant cyborg, he came back to life and befriended the sickly boy, whom he refers to as ‘Master’. Despite Satoshi repeatedly asking him to call him by name, the Kanbe insists on it. Knowing nothing of Kanbe’s past, Satoshi renamed the mutant cyborg ‘Rhody’, Together, they vow investigate the true nature of ASCEND and save Satoshi’s sister from being used in their nefarious plans.

Personality: Rhody is gentle, well-meaning and polite creature that will protect those he holds dear. He is a very cautious, stoic person, seldom divulging anything about himself, even to Satoshi and Aisa.

Strengths: As a humanoid Rhody has the ability to move from place to place as a liquid. He can appear from a liquid state to a humanoid creature in a blink of an eye. Rhody is an average hand-to-hand combatant, preferring to disarm someone rather than outright attacking. As his true from of a cyborg, Rhody can fly, target multiple targets at once, has % 95 accuracy when using weapons, and uses his chi as ammunition. He has infinite ammunition when he uses his Gatling Gun, and favorites that in battle.

Weaknesses: Rhody is actually much weaker in his humanoid form, which is why he prefers to disarm opponents rather than attack them directly. He cannot activate his true from on his own; Satoshi has to trigger it for him. His true form suffers from a severe decrease in speed and his laser cannon takes a lot of his energy and renders him exhausted if used. He never uses the laser cannon unless it’s a dire situation.
