Isn't the jabberwock a dragon?

The Jabberwocky is from a poem by Lewis Carroll, but its description in the poem was very vague . It's often depicted as a dragon (based on the illustration of it in the original Through the Looking Glass novel), but it's not necessarilly one.
Even less is known about the Jub Jub bird and the Bandersnatch, who were just mentionned by name in the poem. How they are depicted in medias (like the Alice movie from 2010) is just a choice by the people who made the movie.

The bandersnatch appears in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland

I know, I mentionned this movie in my comment.
But this movie just shows an interpretation of what the bandersnatch could look like, we have no idea what Lewis Carroll, the original author, thought it looked like. All he said is that they have a long neck and snapping jaws:Β en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bandersnβ¦
Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland is a very loose adaptation, it does its own thing and there's nothing wrong with that, but other artists may choose to portray the Jabberwocky, Jub Jub Bird (who's also in the movie, btw) and the Bandersnatch differently.Β
All I'm saying is that it's open to interpretation.

I'd go with the jabberwock's draconic nature, as well as proportions. Though the thing also wears a vest.

Great! Very nice alternative design. And the nest and two cubs? larvae? add a new point of view to the story...

Great painting! That moth-jabberwocky is fantastic and I love those slightly surreal colours; they have a dream-like intensity that fits perfectly with Alice in Wonderland. Β I also really like the way those almost stencilled-looking vegetation shapes at the bottom of the painting make a really cool contrast against the more blended areas. Β Congrats on the second place finish!

Very cool, I like how your intake on the Jabberwocky was actually in sort of a moth like form. It really looks neat.
