Description So as promised, here's a full body shot of my Cloud of Darkness cosplay. A.k.a. Codfish, as my friends and I have dubbed her (it?).

I'M READY TO HIT THE BEACH IN THIS THING, HURRRR 8D

This costume was literally a living hell. You'd think that would be impossible, since there's not much costume to begin with ( ) but it's true. Since apparently spirit gum hates my skin in the middle of summer, I had to resort to getting most of the costume on by hot gluing it to my body.

.............Seriously.

In addition to that, my tentacle thingies (whom the Dissidia fandom has named Om and Nom ) died very early on at the con by falling off the back of my cape, and therefore were carried around in my bag for the remainder of the day- hence why they are Sirs-Not Appearing in this shot.

The heart shaped thing on my forehead was stuck on with hair gel.... and it lasted the entire day. LOL. Hair gel= miracle glue. WHO KNEW.

Well I definitely won't be wearing this torturous thing again anytime soon until I make some serious adjustments. Til then, these pictures will be the only proof that I ever did this.

I'm sorry, but.... I look at this, and this is all I see:

Also, I applaud your bravery in wearing this costume, as well as put it on the interwebs. Hats off to you, good sir! xD

.......LOOOOOOOOL Nah, it's not quite pedo-bearish enough of a pose. I was thinking more Flasher on the move....

WHY THANK YOU. To be honest I'm not really worried. I have bikini shots online. *shrugs* Not much different.

Om and Nom!

It would've been funny if you held them up to each other like sock puppets or something and do a silly photo with you talking to them.

That hot glue sounds rather painful, but the hair gel does sound humorous.

Were you wearing sleeves on your arms? I think it would make sense from an engineering stand point to have sleeves that can attach to the cape. But as you mentioned you have to make adjustments to make this wearable and comfortable in the future, so good luck on that, I'm sure you can find a solution to the problems encountered!

LOL actually, I did something just like that..... ;D [link]

I wasn't wearing sleeves, but I did have gloves that went all the way up my arms, and I did intend to attach them to my cape.... But I ended up just holding my cape in place all day with my hands instead, LOL. Not fun.

Woo! He looks like a happy camper being out of your bag!

Ah I see, looks like you're gonna have to test out some modifications so the cape attaches to the gloves! Hopefully you can get it to work for you!

I still think you're crazy for hot gluing that to your skin!!! D:

LOL oh yes, I'm quite insane. >D
But it really didn't hurt. If you wait for it to dry a bit then pat it down really quick with your fingers before you put it on your skin, it just feels a bit hot, but it doesn't scald you or anything.

Hmmm... maybe it's not too bad then! D8 I'm just terrified because of a school project a while ago that involved a glue gun and second degree burns...

Hot glue? Hot damn, that's serious devotion.
It looks amazing, though, I love how you're almost floating (although not very high, but fair enough, because heels higher than that would destroy my feet, dunno about yours XD), and it's a really well-constructed costume for being only a few bits of fabric, haha.

KohakuRose In reply to Sorceress-Eiva [2010-09-20 20:49:27 +0000 UTC]

LOL yup! Though I was pretty careful with it, so it didn't hurt.... mostly...
Thank you very much! Yeah I've seen some other CoD cosplayers with 5 or 6 inch heels, and it looks cool and all, but eh.... I'll stick with my 3 1/2 inch heels and blister-free feet.
