Spain and England were both notorious for having pirates! : D

Though it's not like Pirates of The Caribbean if that's what you're thinking-- I think it was more organized than that. Like Sir Francis Drake for England-- Not as informed about it with Spain though but it was in Hetalia so I wouldn't doubt that Spain had some pirates too D:

lol I just thought Spain was famous for its epic navy back some centuries ago I guess they could have acted like pirates then

LOL oh, though the British were more epic in navy at the time.

(And yes if you speak from the mother country's view, they would be somewhat like a "navy" but if you speak from another country's view, they would be "pirates")
By pirates I mean people that colonized and captured land for Britain. (e.g Sir Francis Drake). In Britain he would be a hero, but because of conflicting views... to Spain-- Sir Francis Drake would be considered a pirate and vice versa. : D Since they were the baddest on the ocean, I guess that's why it's more focused on these two countries.

^^ Ah, like conquistadores. (Again, I'm only taking Spn. history next year so I'm obsessed XD) Spaniards would view them as heroes, but the conquered peoples... not so much...
