My brain is dead... uh... what to write?...I did a photo study of a photo from: twitter.com/_mimineko

I was focusing on getting the right colors, rendering, and just finishing something in general since I haven't in... forever. I picked colors on the wheel, tried it, and if it didn't match I'd try it again. Each color probably took a good 50 tries, some more, some less. I did my best to avoid picking colors from the original, and tried to instead think about what light is reflecting where. Needless to say, it took a really long time. Here's to hoping I can one day draw like this on my own.
ugh... my eyes... medic... need a medic... send a cute medic...

It does look quite like a photo from the thumbnail. I like how you did her face and that part where the bright light is hitting her hair, though I think the rest of her hair is lacking volume. The values on her shirt seem very light too but I can't see the photo though so I can't compare it.

Yeah, once I finished I played with the levels a bit to see if some color correcting would make it better, and in the process it made the shirt a bit bright. When I think about it now, changing the levels also kind of defeats the point of this...

Trying to figure out how to give the hair a bit more volume but I just can't get it... guess that's something to work on too.

Looking at the photo now, I think you were pretty close with the colours and values. Nice job! As for the hair I think you made the occlussion shadows a bit too dark and hard-edged and didn't make the core shadows of the big forms very visible.
