Description It's been a while! I'm sorry I'm not very active here.

"Lesson for the day: vision is always ahead of execution - and it should be. Vision, Uncertainty, and Knowledge of Materials are inevitabilities that all artists must acknowledge and learn from: vision is always ahead of execution, knowledge of materials is your contact with reality, and uncertainty is a virtue." - Art & Fear: Observations on the perils (and rewards) of art making, by David Bayles and Ted Orland.

This picture is the perfect proof of my own mind and fear of my vision never matching the execution simply holding me back. The large painting was only finished because deadlines and my group kept me on track. The two moon paintings were an attempt at playing with oil paints, but never finished because I began to fear that the image in my mind wasn't becoming true. The sketch in the bottom right never colored because my idea meant more to me than the execution. As you can see their all in various forms of work, some I'm simply not happy with because they weren't what I originally intended, but that doesn't mean it's not good, just that it changed.

This book is one I bought months ago, knowing my own downfall and my own problems but fear kept me from picking it up. I knew it would say things I already knew but wasn't willing to accept. Now that I've picked this book up and have begun reading I'm in love because it speaks to me. My main issue with completing my work recently has been the uncertainty keeping me from even starting but from uncertainty art is created.

Do you ever feel the fear of creation? 🎨👩🏻‍🎨
