Does anything happen when you load the shader on the model? Because if you only load excellent shadow as in the fx it won't work, you have to load the .x file as well

One more question. How exactly does the ExcellentShadow work? Because I did try it and it doesn't seem to do anything. Unless there's some sort of "trick" I need to do in the Map Effect window.

What kind of shader are you trying to use? If you're using the soft shadow, it won't work.
Excellent shadow doesn't work for all shaders (I think) I've tried it on those toon shaders( M4toon, anime shader things) and it didn't work.
I've only used it on the G_Shaders/Greener shaders, so I don't know if it works on other shaders other than those.
Anyway, you load a shader on the model, then you load excellent shadow by the accessory manipulation.

I tried to load it straight on a model without any other effects and the first version crashed my MMD while v2 just did nothing. I also tried it with some tonemap effects, but no difference.

Have you tried loading the excellent shadow on the model and then load it by the accessory manipulation box? I think that's how you do it.

Something worked out. But only when I have a model freshly loaded into MMD with no stages or anything. And it lags as hell with random errors appearing when I load the effect. But maybe I can work something out with it sometime.

I was wrong. I didn't manage to make ES work after all. It just deleted the whole shadow from my model and made it darker. I'm still not sure how to use that effect. Probably my MMD or pc is too weak for it.

Never really tried the ExcellentShadow thing. Maybe I should, because I always load SoftShadow directly on models and thus I can't use any other shaders on them.
The angle flipping killed me a bit. I used to do that, but then the spa files on hair just look stupid, so I just render the picture vertically as it is.
A good tutorial tho. A lot of interesting MMEs to check sometime.

For a first, not bad. Clear and without clutter, although next time you should use a font/speech bubbles with more contrast (I overlooked a few things on the first read).
