Full View PleaseNow how long has it been since I've submitted an original character to one of my own stories, lol...forever, actually.
I thought my gallery needed more 'originality', so I decided to finally start beginning to develop one of two stories I've had in my head for years. Both stories aren't animal based (however, there are a few animals in each one) but I need to learn how to draw people before I'm able to get their designs down. Until then, he is a head shot one of the animal characters.
His name is Jet and he is the second main character besides an adult female, which is fantasy based. I'll have a full reference sheet of him done soon but I mainly drew this to practice my shading, which I still need improvement on, lol.
This is actually my first picture on Sai as well as outlining with single strokes. Fun fun.

Oh? Hmm, I'm looking back at my gallery and can't see to find major similarities besides obvious style straights. Regardless, he's still under developing so hopefully that will change, haha.

Definitely style. Its a good thing that he looks like my other drawings, actually, haha. And of course. He's not the main character. I still got to draw the main.

The shading is actually really nice! Like Inkeed said, it really makes your drawing look all 3D! <3 I LOVE the highlights and the shading to the eyes!

Like I've told you before, I think you need to find a good style to draw that matches with both people and animals. I think a REALLY good example is the one scene in 101 Dalmatians, where you see all the different ladies with their dogs, and how well they match. But I have to say, this character, this face is FANTASTIC! Oh man, he has so much character, and the cleanliness of the lines really helps that I think. I'd love to see more in this sort of style. I'm so jealous of your puppies~

Awww!! My signature is so crap XDD it's like I got a seizure halfway and just scribbled the rest. My handwriting's okay on the tablet, getting a lot better, but I like it best in Illustrator b/c it makes it look pretty XD.

Good question. I know for sure he is supposed to be a dog, but not quite sure what breed he'll be. When I make his reference sheet, his breed will appear more obvious to everyone.
