A sketch I made~My favourite character from the demo so far

Ah yeah, Aunn is easily my favorite character from Touhou 16's demo as well, she really stole my heart, and that's only complimented by the translation of her dialogue: She has a great personality as a character I think as well. ^^

I hope Reimu adopts her or something...

Well if you've ever seen Reimu's ending in Touhou 5, she thinks about adopting an adorable little fairy gal there, not only that, but she legit adopted Shinmyoumaru in Touhou 14 for the sake of her safety. Reimu's a good character. ^^
As far as I'm concerned, Aunn is an absolutely welcome addition to the ever expansive Hakurei Shrine hangout, and even if Aunn isn't specific to Shintoism (since she'd also guard BuddhistΒ stuff), I enjoy that she'll be watching over Reimu's shrine for the remainder of Touhou 16 even in the full game. ^^
And yeah, while she enjoys contributing/volunteering from the shadows, I'm glad she's gotten some from of recognition since she's probably been doing this for years unbeknown to any of us, what a humble, charming character. ^^

For some reason my text in touhou 5 is bugged and they all communicate through symbols ._. So I kinda just guessed they went in Makai and beat their god cuz they didn't want any Makai immigrants no more.Β
I don't know if she would stay at the Hakurei shrine though since she also protects the Moriya shrine and such D:

Ah, you probably don't have a font installed for it sounds like. I don't know what your emulator is for the Touhou PC-98 games, but if you'd like some help I could provide you with some good resources if you'd like.
Also, I base what I say Aunn will do based on her own words , so at least for now she's protecting the Hakurei Shrine. 'tis neat. ^^
Ah man, I am really excited to see what the full Touhou 16 will be like. ^^

touhou 5 was my first game and seeing all the characters ''dwiqpqjpe'' each other was a good first impression :'D
The music is really good tho I like chiptune alot ;w; so I was pleased~

Except ZUN's art style has improved and each character looks pretty genuinely cute in the original game, so those people don't know what they are talking about.

What's your favourite game?~

It happens to be your first game, Touhou 5 Mystic Square (My first game was Touhou 1, Highly Responsive to Prayers, btw). I know for a fact that game can be outclassed in the future if there is a solid enough Touhou entry that comes out in my eyes, but this game is my favorite for what it managed to do for Touhou today and the fact that the game holds up as a solid entry to Touhou's games even today. The first five games set the foundation for Touhou, but arguably Touhou's 4 and 5 really brought us the Touhou games we have today from ZUN.
However, no other Touhou game has the same things that Touhou 4 or 5 does, in terms of characters and even background and generic enemies, there is distinction in these aspect beyond just the reused fairy and enemy sprites from modern Touhou we see now. There is so much distinct variety, and plenty of challenge to be had all around, and in many ways, I'd love to see the characters from these games return much like Reimu, Marisa, Alice, and Yuuka did (I could go into plenty more detail here, but don't want to drag on ^^').
I still love most Touhou games, so I'm also interested, What is your favorite entry to the series and why?

My favourite is PCB~
It was also one of my first few touhou games and it just felt so good to play
The characters are all really memorable for me and all the boss themes are so cool ;_; I love Alice's and the Prismrivers' and Youmu's and Yuyuko's so muchhh~ Yukari's too ofc but I never got to phantasm.
The stage themes from this game are some of my favourites (except for Last Remote and Alice in wonderland are my favourites) and I love how the music fits so well with the gameplay... I know this happens in most touhou games, like the music changing when midboss shows up but when the music goes back to being peaceful at the end of stage 4 feels so good ;_; and the music changing when Youmu shows up hnnng~
So back to the characters:
People say Letty is forgettable but I hold her close to my heart because she was the first Windows-Era touhou I fought so I remember her very well ;w;
Chen and the Yakumos are really cool too <3
Alice is one of my favourite touhous. I was so surprised to see her since I had just came from Mystic Square I was like WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE OMG?? I just like Alice's concept of controlling dolls so much ;; I'm drawing her with Marisa right now eheh~
I have nothing but bad memories with the Prismrivers ._. I don't remember which one but one of them is very hard compared to the others... I think it was the one you get if you're playing as Sakuya
Youmu is so cool I love her so much ;-; Her final spellcards are really fun to dodge too she's like an harder Sakuya to me... her midboss spell in stage 5 is bs tho I always bomb there
Yuyuko is also one of my favourite characters ;-; I love her backstory I love her theme her design her spellscards, everything is so pretty~
And her survival spell feels so intense along with the music
Playing as Sakuya is always a +1 for me too <3
It was the second extra stage I beat~ (First was Suwako)
And the story is interesting too~
uuuh what else can I say... it's kinda hard to pick a favourite game tho ;w;
My five favourites would be
PCB MS DDC IN and EoSD
SA was replaced by EoSD because I can't beat Rin on normal mode ;_;
I spent all my time practicing touhou 8 because I thought it was the only game I had a chance of beating in lunatic ;;

for some reason the 2 first touhou characters I've seen (once I knew what touhou was) are pretty underated ._.
Letty being the first character I've seen ingame and Shou and her theme really caught my attention :'D

It's funny because I like both Letty andΒ Shou. ^^;
And if we are talking underrated, don't get me started on the Touhou PC-98 characters. You could say I have a knack for some of the more underrated characters; I give them a lot of attention because they normally don't get much; however, my favorite Touhou characters usually come down to individual personality and such, and in this regard I like Letty and Shou for these reasons beyond things like theme song and such, so very nice to hear from you!
Honestly if every Touhou character was on equal grounds in terms of popularity vs. over and under-exposure, I feel there would be some really awesome choices for favorites. In truth though there isn't a single Touhou character I dislike even if I prefer some over the others. ^^

Funny enough, so were Reimu and Marisa. Especially considering Reimu usually doesn't really apologize for attacking youkai and such, it was really nice to see her apologize to Aunn, and for Aunn to be so understanding.
