Description
A requested image from Blue Flame Productions ([link] ), SupaChao for their game entitled 'The Fugitives'. Unfortunately, their main programmer for the game is taking a bit of a hiatus, so it isn't being worked on much at the moment...After an interesting Private Message on a Message Board I goto, from SupaChao (Regarding 'how well my art has grown' since he first saw me *sweatdrop*), he requested I do the odd occasional image for him. I was itching to draw Shadow, anyways... so I gave it some thought and asked him if he had any ideas. I mixed this image with a previous request, for someone last summer, of Sonic. So it looked sorta Sonic Advance ish. I like how this turned out, really...
I was trying to get more of a 3D feel to the image, which is why Shadow's spines are positioned oddly, like that. But, the shoes really didn't turn out well at all... and that one stray ear. Hard to work 3D into a 2D design. Lol, oh well... Once again, I made another color swatch for this guy, helps a lot!

I don't know, it looks pretty good to me. That one foot does look a little farther to the right then it should be, but the "stray ear" doesn't really strike me as a big problem or anything. I think you did a very good job on this. Drawing 3D isn't easy at all, and you've done very, very well!

Well, nothing I can see that hasn't been addressed already; as for the flat fingers on the shoulder, all I can say is yes, we lurve Shadow's face (OH YES WE DO! *shifty gaze*) but sometimes sacrafices have to be made. I'm not saying add a WHOLE lot on, but just a little, and not even enough onto the thumb to touch the bottom corner of the mouth maybe? That way it wouldn't cover up anything important, but at the same time the fingers would look so flat. And probably round them off a little better toward the shoulder area.
Meh, not that you're going to fix it up or anything, but maybe for future reference.

The only thing that looks a tad awkward is the hand he has on his shoulder. It looks a teeny bit... flat. O_O;; But that's okay XP...

A color swatch, is like a painting pallet. ^_^ It's a graphical file, with splotches of color. when you color them in, you pick a color, and paint in the whitespace. Mine has colors that also affect how the shading and highlighting come out. IE, Shadow's base grey color is 37x37x37 (RGB), use the same color to make the shading in multiply mode, and use a 128x128x128 set to Screen for the highlights.

Love the use of Sonic Team styled shading in this picture. ^^ Though i think his arms look weird; the hand making a thumbs down sign looks a bit too stiff and the other hand looks like he's groping his shoulder. (not that there's anything wrong with Shadow groping himself
