I can imagine Dr. Hell being like Dr. Doom at his best and the Red Skull at his worst. Both Marvel super-villains with Doom being a more reasonable "enforced monarch" compared to the power mad Nazi Red Skull.

I think his original name was Dr. Hill. But when he became power hungry and evil, the I was replaced with an E, and henceforth he became Dr. Hell.

Well, since he's supposed to be have been born in Germany before the World Wars, I'd think Hartmut Emil Lehmann would be a good birth name for him, and after fleeing from the consequences for his crimes as a Nazi, takes the name Olaf Detlef Hell. At least that's my first impression of a building block for my own head canon.

Well, according to what I've looked up recently, Hell (which is perhaps an alias) was born on September 6th, 1902 in Germany to a poor, abusive mother and surrounded by cruel teachers and students. By college, his only real friends were Juzo and his future wife, but a love triangle splintered them apart and made Hell convinced that Juzo and the world as a whole must pay for his traumas and humiliations. So I suppose he does think he's in the right in a way. Too bad these shows haven't been faithfully dubbed, they look like stuff good enough to write about. I know it would cost money, but wouldn't the long view help?Β

WEll, it might be interesting to find out just how Dr. Hell would run things. A day in the life story might be good.

Start from Dr. Hell's wakening, and go through outΒ his day. What does a Mad Scientist do all day, and how does he interact with his subordinates? Just why does he want to conquer the World? What's it all for? Or is he just a loon who wants to destroy because it's amusing?

Um, actually I was thinking something like Skeletor's introduction in the 2002 show. And maybe see if the shows come up with either dubs or slightly less broken English subs before actually writing. I watched some episodes of UFO for a bit, and it looked like the subbed dialogue wasn't used, even more so than usual.

The Mazinger show with the Vegan aliens and such. I watched it on this website called Cartoon8. As for Skeletor,Β try here.

Oh, Grendizer! Actually the dubs are pretty accurate. The Vegans were pretty wicked , but i noticedΒ more than a few decent ones among them. The Vegan Emperor is terrible, but his daughter is kind and sweet.Β That seems odd to me butΒ there must be even goodness in even the worst of them.

I guess there should be at least one sincere good character in an evil faction. But I saw were subs. Did assume too quick to believe the Mazinger shows haven't been dubbed yet. And I'm not talking about Tranzor.

I'm thinking Rubina, the Emperor's kindly daughter. She's definitely good. I always figured the Emperor was trying to conquer the Galaxy so she would be safe and secure. Doing what he thought was necessary evil so that a future Good would come.Β Β Come to think of it , most tyrants claim to do this,

I can imagine him doing everything in his power to achieve world domination out of both bitter revenge over a post-World War II world and a desire for ultimate power. And he likes to manipulate both the Mycenae, the surface governments, and perhaps the Vegans (if he lives that long) to fulfill his goals. Even if it involves raining "Hellfire" on entire populations.

Β 1984? Never mind! Dr. Hell uses mind control devices as a matter of course. He has his victims' Top half of their skulls removed and implants the devices there. He doesn't bother to replace their skulls. Look at the soldiers under Baron Ashura.
Β Hmmpf. Good thing he's NOT in charge.Β Any of the dictators he follows have more morality. Gambare, Mazinger Z!!!
