the first encounter. Lycagon the Nightstalker

Phantasmal Body (not its REAL body)
Lv.165, Female Shadow Wolf

Data: random spawns, only on moonlit/moonless nights. Marks (Players) it deems worthy as prey, then as one to eliminate.
Player can be granted "Lycagon's Mark" if:
- must last 5 minutes as the sole attacker WITHOUT being attacked even once
- must survive a normally insta-kill attack, but not a magic/skill/item-type attack (i.e. her claw or fang attacks)
- must land enough critical hits (Sunraku said he'd felt like he landed about 200 crits in the fight)

Lycagon's Mark effects:
- the Player cannot equip ANY items on any part of the body where they are Marked (gear - they had on said body parts - is DESTROYED)
- weaker leveled monsters automatically run away,
- interactions with NPC's change (Beast-Type NPC Affinity is increased, as the Player gains the scent of the Nightstalker)
- "Magic Interference" status: Buff and Debuff magic becomes ineffective/weakened
- the Marking can be removed should the Player go to a chapel to purify the curse OR defeat the caster (Lycagon)

If the Player DEFEATS the Phantom, the "Lycagon's Mark" becomes "Lycagon's Scar", gaining the following effects:
- The Player is able to equip gear over the scarring, but the gear is destroyed after 180 CONSECUTIVE seconds ("rapid equipping" is key)
- weaker monsters still run away, now stronger monsters will AUTO SEEK the Player.
- Magic Interference is now also immune to Curse/Miasma magic and effects. (another of the Colossi uses such elements)
- the NPC interactions can now also trigger "unique dialogue" for the Player
- The Player becomes "Class-Locked"
- The Scar can ONLY be removed by killing Lycagon. (you don't get the easy way out.)
The Unique (EX) Scenario: "Dark of Night, Purged by the Light of Courage", which confers "Guiding Light" (can track Lycagon, IF nearby)
