Acrylic, 16X24. Completed last July.Scanned and assembled. And I thought photographing a painting was fun
*The first piece I completed after what was likely the worst month of my life (June). I've no idea if the events of said month influenced this painting since I tend to submerge all unpleasantness beneath the miles of permafrost that I've allowed to accumulate over the years (self-preservation, ya know). There shall be no clubbing of baby seals in my arctic preserve.
I ask questions, but I pray that the answers never come. "Bless me with mystery, and shroud me with shadows..." (Keb)
But I (as usual) digress...

the composition on this piece is very interesting. you eye at first goes to the two individuals in the center and then is directed upward to the bead in the tree. at a second glance you spot the wooden puppet which gives the effect of holding your eye for a while. what I find mst interesting is the blank area of space in the upper left which does not add to the overall compasition of the painting but seems to increase the ammount of attention to the right. very interesting composition. I like it.

Sis trying to blame something on the other girl, but she feels like the problem is her fault anyway. She is conflicted between wether to accept her friends support or envy her underng and calmness. On the other hand it could ber her lction in her minds eye. She is attacking herself with words, but she holds back enough not to harm herself. This is because she is scared of giving up the chance to live another day for hope's sake. I think she is also too brave to kill herself because people depend on her she doesn't want to give up. She doesn't want to lose. Dying... dying is easy, living is hard.
