Description

Finally, I finished coloring this picture! It's fineliner and watercolor on paper, postcard-sized. I regret choosing the paper I did: it buckled and the surface dissolved in some places.

This is my OC innis with her magical watery (yes, the harp strings are water!) harp. Playing the harp conjures water dragons.

Everything in this drawing is awesome. All the details of her dress, the colours of the composition...

The water strings of the harp is sooo original and that looks soo beautiful!

I could say that I'm in love with thisπŸ’”

Looks great now! Very bright, beautiful colors! I have always problems with the paper (I should strech and tape it first, but too lazy...) buckling doesn't show in this finished work, so don't worry!

You're most welcome! Yes, that also works well. I always use A6 paper for postcards - it's definitely the perfect size for that ^^ and nowadays I try to buy as plain and strong paper as possible to avoid the wear and tear while usings markers and watercolors. sadly the cost of the paper is also pretty high, but then I have to make every drawing and painting worth it, haha.

That's good ^^ I also have a lot of A4 paper for sketching. I don't use that much watercolors, markers are my main tools and those are pretty expensive - it's sad if lighter colors get smudged from black line (have to be extra careful when coloring). I have to try ink in some point if that is a bit cheaper choice.

Haha! XD They are pretty annoying sometimes (when the result isn't what you wished for...) but oh so nice when you finally succeed. ;D

Watercolors are very nice, it needs a lot of talent to handle them like you do (light and shadows are so beautifully crafted and also the color patterns, very dreamy). ^^

Yup, I checked it out and it sure looks nice, a bit bolder colors and lining work on it very well ^^ and that golden shine! :>
I think that delicate watercolor technique needs some extra careful and exact touch of brush to make the watery effect look stunning and also good eye on choosing the colors from the palette, it's very important and I have heard others say that the watercoloring is harder than for example oil-painting where you don't need to be so precise on painting part itself. Someone would really lose their marbles while focusing on watercoloring so it's definitely not for all. But yeah, of course practice helps, and your hard practice definitely shows here.

It's going to be fun, trust me! ^^ I recommend paper for manga/comics (it's usually both for markers/ink and watercolor, but check it when you buy), or paper for markers you're using (like copic) and Canson's Imagine paper for mixed media art is very usable and holds color.

Haha, I'm not good at oil painting either, I get tired painting on big canvas and I can't add any good details there (for example eye lashes, all humans look like robots etc).

Oh no! XD
