I still can't believe you draw with the tracking pad on your laptop. that's wicked skill.
I like these. You should find some pokefans and do some requests.

no, nothing like that. requests/ or commissions can be done anywhere.
Try these steps.
first, look for people. you just need to find people who are willing to have something drawn by some one else. respond to their journal or forum and let them see your work and give some sort of consent before you go ahead and draw it.
second, once you get used to that, people should be a little familiar with you after doing that for some time. So make a forum with a title of what kind of commissions you currently want to do for people. you should have some watchers by then.
Third, if you get really good or into doing these, make Commission based journals. This is only really effective though if word is spread around a little bit about you and you have a decent number of watchers.
Fourth level. make a website, do your own works for examples. people should possibly be coming to you by this point.
These steps take time and require you to get the work done without procrastination. no one likes to wait. it's defiantly a time consumer and a bit of fun to an average drawer, but a joy to the future professional artist.
The hardest part is finding people and searching. it can get a little tedious. a GREAT PLACE to start this stuff at is either on the dev art forums, or make an account on gaia online and then search for the artist forum and people will be commissioning you to draw their avatar. it may not be pokemon when you do it there all the time, but it's great practice and you can get yourself recognized a little easier. be sure to always present a link to your dev art page if you ever commissions some where other than dev art.
this should help a little.
