I started drawing digitally....3 years ago? (Holy crap, 3 years!)
I had all my old stuff on a different DA account...I deleted it XD
I also draw a lot on Doink.com (Its a website that's based on Flash pretty much-free animation!)

If you want to get used to vector programs, I recommend visiting it.

Vectors= Paths. It's like drawing with math (only...there's no math involved.) It makes the lines look crisp and smooth.
Pros: Very good lineart, nice clean look
Cons: You can't blend them
Pixels= Those little squares. They give you a nice, blendy look.
Pros: Nice shading, good for toning, easier to draw with (in my opinion-more like traditional art)
Cons: Not as smooth as vectors
You might have already known all this stuff ^^'

Pixel work...let's see...do you mean like sprites? I don't do that type of pixel work, haha. This drawing, however is used with a pixel program. The basic program is MS paint, but you can't really create very sophisticated art pieces unless you have a lot of patience. Programs like Photoshop and Corel Painter are pixel "painting" programs. You can probably find cheaper ones, these are just the ones that I happen to own.
You just draw. I have a tablet that I use...it's slightly different from drawing on paper, but once you get used to it, it's not bad
