MADE NEARLY ENTIRELY WITH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES!!!

After a long hiatus from doing digital art I thought I'd finally complete an unfinished work I've had for a while. This Maniacal Mad Hatter is made nearly entirely of fruit and vegetables. Everything in the image was created using a Halbanero Chili, Eggplant, Bell Pepper and Red Chili Pepper; with the exception of Hatter's eyes, the smiley face button and the frame and background.

I take photographs of the fruit and veggies, then I crop them and use them as parts of the character. I shape the fruit and veggies with the Liquify and Warp tools. I blend the elements together to make the completed item, such as Hatter's face, which is entirely constructed with a Halbanero Chili. His mouth is the inside of a Bell Pepper. His teeth are a Halbanero Chili. His Hat is an Eggplant. The knife is actually made with an Eggplant. I know it's hard to see how that is possible but the technique is actually relatively easy and a lot of fun. It's very cool to see a piece of fruit become a creepy character.

My goal was to create compelling images using the most unusual of media. Fruits and veggies were the ideal choice. I hope you like it.
