Description I’m here. Nothing else matters. The crisp night wind filters through my heart. The dew-drenched grass brushes against my skin. My eyes stare into the speckled sky. A waterfall rushes beside me, stars sparkling in its reflection. There is no time to cry. Emotion eludes me. I am simply there. I stand, my damaged body obeys painlessly; euphoric numbness has shrouded it. Reality sings a long forgotten tune, basking in full realization. A young man stands before me. Our eyes meet and an unspoken bond is formed with our smiles. He walks toward me and we embrace. Warm water meets our skin as we lower our tired bodies into its open arms. We are floating. Names are irrelevant, the past is irrelevant, and the future is non-existent. We gather stars with our open eyes. Laughter dances around us. We have no map, no plan, no destination, but we know where we are going. We leave the water and lay in the grass. Our fingers are laced together. We will hold each other until we are forced to let go. I know that the world will let go soon but we will lie, hand in hand until the earth is pushed into non-existence. This is the final chapter; we are among its last letters. It doesn’t matter that I didn’t fight hard enough. All of history melts into a blur. The end is loud. Our ears are bleeding. Our smiles remain determined. He wipes a tear from my cheek. I hear nothing now. The sky falls down around us and our bodies leave the grass, we are hugging.  The world is drenched in a bright orange light. Air no longer exists. Every single one of our atoms is brought down with a slam. There is no light now. Our smiles remain as our bodies are wrenched from existence. All of the dying planet’s emotion is thrust into a new plain of existence. We are all here now. Human emotion is gone and a new sense of life fills us as we watch the fabric of reality implode.
