I'm just a pessimist because I was traumatized in the past.
I was big shipper on KonanxPein, until the manga revealed that not only was Pein a walking corpse, he was controlled by a third guy. And then all of them died. Shipping those two has never been the same
Maybe Oda won't be that evil but I'll hold my breath until the end. He's been really busy killing off characters this arc. Side characters but anyways.

Killing him would be a dick move and when Oda does that, it's a long emotional rollercoast, which Jinbe is yet to have. So I'm not gonna stress about Jinbe nor Mihawk until they start to show the signs.
