Description
I look out the window and I see the sky,
I wonder to myself and think about why.

Why did you hate me when I as but a child?
Why do you hate me now? My mind runs wild.

Wild with ideas of why you felt such a way,
making my life a calendar of cold and rainy days.

For you have created within my soul,
a torrent wind of emotions, leaving me cold.

When will you see, mommy, when will you care?
That the space in my heart for you wil soon not be there?

But that's just it; you really don't care.
giving my thoughts a tumble, leaving me in despair.

But as the clouds part and the sun comes out,
I hope my rainy days have ended;
For now in my heart, I've found a new start,
and the hole is slowly mending.

I've taken my love now it's for someone new;
she treated me so much better, mommy, so much better than you.

I know these words sound childish, for that is what I am,
but I'm not such a child to not realize that you don't give a damn.

So please mommy, don't rain on me anymore;
for I think my heart is ready for what life has in store.

The hole is almost closed now because of a woman much greater than you,
she's given me more than a home, she's given me my soul, love too.

So mommy, this poem I write to you to let you know I need you not,
for it rains no more; the skies don't pore, for the sun has made it stopped.
