... there's something very passive in fall colors... despite the intense colors that nature puts on display, there's something about them that is so peaceful and idyllic, it sets the mind adrift... that's what I think of...

If I go with passive...it must be that fall is just the "last stop" on the way to dying. A final show of beauty...passive because the end is already decided...nothing can change it.
Fall is my favorite season. In Texas it is when things start to live again after the intensity of summer's heat. The fall colors last all the way until just after Thanksgiving...and I think the cool air and colors make me think of simpler times...the way things should be...rosy cheeks, outdoor fires, family, piles of raked leaves waiting to be jumped in, a fire in the fireplace, hot cider, burnt orange skies at sundown, going to pumpkin patches, collecting leaves...gosh, I think I could go on!

... that's nice to know, some people don't embrace simpler times although I'm not sure why that is...

"Fall" with its fascinating would make a great theme for a series. This shot reminds me of how our garden coloured in autumn. Brown trees, red trees, yellow trees, all in slightly different tones.
