Description A very curious Konik foal trying to find out what we were doing there on the ground. The foals seemed to be so much more inquisitive when we were sitting down. Probably because we seemed smaller. This one will turn out to be a very handsome stallion.

What a beautiful boy! I don't mean to sound ignorant, but what's a Konik horse? It sounds like a Mongolian breed or something.

Thank you. A Konik is a Polish breed. In Poland they still use the breed to ride and work with but in the rest of Europe the breed is only used for grazing purposes in nature reserves to keep the vegetation diverse. They're treated as wild horses and they can handle that very well. They're the closest man could get to breeding the european wild horse back.

Oh yes, Polish, not Mongolian, haha. That was my best guess. Thank you for telling me more information about it! So obviously you're a horse lover like me... Do you work with them or raise them or just ride? I just ride for pleasure, and I've only had the pleasure of riding Quarter Horses, paints, Appaloosas, and Arabians. I'd love to get my hands on a Fresian, Knabstrups, and some other breeds, though! ^^

No problem, love telling people about this unknown breed.
I do work with animals, not horses though. I work in a shelter for cats and dogs. Would have loved to have my own horse but dont have the finances for one. So I ride the ones of my friends now and then. Ridden a lot of Frisians, definitely worth the try. I think you'll find that they have a nice relaxed trot and an even more relaxing gallop. Almost impossible to get thrown from the saddle.

I rode a... Thoroughbred, I think he was, once, and his trot was absolutely smooth, I wouldn't trade it for the world... I was in the saddle, yet I never felt like I bounced, I just sat. With every other horse I've ridden, unless I've posted, I've bounced, as hard as I've tried to sit to it. I love a canter in any horse, it's my favorite gait. And I've galloped before and it was amazing. I also don't have funds for my own horse, although my mom and stepdad bought me one when I was 15 until I was 17, but I had to give her away when we sold our ranch and she died last year. I won't be able to have another one until after college, which is a hard reality, since I haven't been able to ride anybody else's, but I'm OK with it, I guess.
