my art has really improved over the pasts few months and Heavenly sunlights ref was really bothering me with how bad it was and I knew I had to update it! but he pretty much has the same personality with a few tweaks

Prince Heavenly Sunlight Sparkle

Parents: Twilight Sparkle, Sunset shimmer (surrogate mother), Discord (adoptive father).

Sibling(s): Divine Chaos (younger sister)

Species: Alicorn, Male

Build: average-sized stallion, Muscled

Special talent: learning spells and teaching them to others

Occupation: Prince, part-time tutor at twilights school

Nickname(s):  Sunlight, Sunny, sunspot, heaven sunflower

Background/Personality:

Heavenly Sunlight Sparkle, also known as Sunny, is the oldest child and heir to the throne of Princess Twilight Sparkle and Prince Consort Discord. after twilight and discord married they both assumed that a Draconequus and a pony could not have biological children since it had never been done before. So they opted to go the safer route, having one of Twilight's friends be their surrogate parent. The first person twilight opened up to about having trouble looking for a surrogate was her friend Sunset Shimmer, who eagerly offered herself up for the task!

At first, twilight was shocked that sunset was so eager to be their surrogate, but after sunset was reformed, she and twilight found that they had a lot in common, both ponies share a love of reading, magic, learning new spells, and both saw Celestia as a mother figure, someone they need to live up to and impress. so Twilight trusted her to be their surrogate. with the help of discord chaos magic, Sunset was turned into a stallion and Heavenly Sunlight was born!...an Alicorn?

Yeah, that was a tremendous shock! Twilight’s unicorn magic was highly amplified after she ascended to Alicorn status, and both Twilight and Sunset already carried very strong unicorn genes and mostly only had unicorns in their bloodlines, so naturally, everyone expected Heavenly to be a unicorn, him being an alicorn was completely unexpected. His magic was powerful even from a young age, and before he could learn how to control it, he would often have strong spurts of magical fits, powerful blasts flying off in all directions!

So to counter this Twilight and discord with the help of Starlight Glimmer and Sunset Shimmer, created a magic imbued ring that Heavenly would wear on his horn until he was old enough to be taught to control his magic, the ring would tone down all of his magical abilities whenever he had it on, though twilight and discord had made the ring as comfortable as possible, Heavenly Virtue absolutely despised wearing it and would try to remove it every chance he could, discord found the sight of his son trying to remove the ring absolutely hilarious while twilight found it annoying, she had made 100% sure that there was no way the ring was hurting or bothering him, so why he hated it so much was beyond her…

Heavenly Sunlight had always been a self-centered ass and a full-fledged bully in his middle school and high school years. The reason for his rude and brash nature is simple. He has an enormous inferiority complex. For the first 8 years of his life, he was the apple of his parent’s eyes, their only child, their perfect baby, and then she came along...

Divine Chaos, his younger sister.

Divine Chaos was completely unexpected for Discord and Twilight. They honestly thought it was impossible for a pony and a draconequus to have biological children. So when discord randomly laid an EGG in the middle of the living room, it completely shocked everyone. Twilight and Discord happily welcomed this child into their family, watching the egg day and night, anticipating its hatching.
When the egg finally hatched, they were completely astonished by her, a perfectly healthy draconequus cub, their second child. Their perfect baby. They imminently fell in love with her, holding her, cuddling and cooing at her, giving her every second of their completely undivided attention, and Heavenly absolutely despised it.
His magic lessons suddenly weren’t just him and his mother, but Divine just had to be included, Discord had to devote most of his attention to teaching Divine how to use her magic so his time spent with his father was cut in half, he was losing his parents to this intruder!

He used to be his mother’s star pupil, having magical capabilities beyond any foal or filly Twilight had ever seen… until Divine was born. Once divine was old enough to use her magic, Twilight immediately started teaching her, and Divine blew her away. She was immediately more powerful than Heavenly Virtue would probably ever be, alicorn or not.
He was intensely jealous of her, trying to one-up her magically every chance he could've gotten, he completely hated her and wanted nothing to do with her, ruthlessly bullying her in their youth and completely cutting her off when he went to college.
Years later, after reflecting on his childhood, he would come to be horrified by the way he treated his younger sibling and wants to get back in contact with her to apologize but.. he wouldn't even know where to start.

Relationships:

Discord: he never saw discord as his father or even a parental figure and finds his personality annoying. He sees his aunt Sunset Shimmer as his true other parental figure and has a very close relationship with her.

Sunset Shimmer: he loves her and sees her as his true parent alongside Twilight. Calls her “ma” or aunty Sunset.

Swift Justice: His relationship with swift justice is cordial at best, awkward and frustrating at worst. They were friendly rivals when they were both twilight personal students, and could have even been called friends. But when Divine Chaos was born, all Swift Justice wanted to do was watch and play with her. Their relationship went south real quick after that. They did eventually become soooomewhat close again during college, though.

Twilight Sparkle: He and his mother have a very complicated relationship… Heavenly Sunlight and Twilight used to have a very strong relationship but after Divine Chaos was born, she had to spend more and more time teaching and helping her learn how to use her chaos magic and their relationship just slowly faded and faded as she spent less and less time with him.

Though he’s AMAZING at magic, he is a shockingly atrocious flyer, and can barely do anything more extreme than light gliding


He always excelled in school and good grades came easily to him, he immediately shot up to the top of his class. (which is also why Divine Chaos imminently pulling off magical feats that he couldn’t even fathom infuriated him) which is why his bullying went under the radar, all the teachers took one look at his grades and saw him as a good kid, undermining any bullying that they happened to catch wind of, which was very little seeing as none of the kids were willing to tattle on a literal alicorn prince.

He’s a total showoff and loves flaunting around that he is a prince! And must all must respect him as such

Though Sunny likes to keep up his image as a cool, suave, chill, dudebro he’s still the son of Twilight sparkle, meaning that he inherited all of her goofy nerd genes, and deep down all he wants is to be is a huge nerdy dork read comic books, watch cheesy movies and play video games all day.

Heaven is a huge romantic, and will shamelessly flirt with the nearest mare or stallion in his vicinity. He can totally dish it, but when someone flirts back? He turns into an absolutely fluffy squawking mess.
