**DOWNLOAD FOR FULL SIZE**First of all I owe everybody a HUGE apology for having been horribly inactive for ...half a year WTF 0.0 especially to the people I still owe art to ,I haven´t forgotten any of you I just seem to hardly have any time for anything these days . I usually have school ´til 4 or 5 o´clock plus homework and the rest of the time I just can´t concentrate on art much . Please forgive me *puppyeyes* hope I´ll be able to do smething again after christmas...
Anyway , I thought I´d try to make a ref sheet for Flames as I´m not quite satisfied with the way she looks on the previous paintings I did of her and don´t want to use them as a reference anymore
This is my first attempt at making a proper ref sheet for one of my characters ,it is also my first serious attempt at painting something digitally so there was lots of experimenting involved. I was surprised to see that it´s not actually that very different from traditional painting exept for a few little things :your clothes/floor/enviroment don´t get ruined by acrilic paints; you can´t accidently destroy everything by spilling water over it ,although, if you have a crappy laptop like mine, the programm will crash whenever it fells like taking a break so you´d better save your work every 5 freaking seconds.........

UNDO-BUTTONDone with Gimp 2 and a Wacom BAMBOO tablet ...might do digital art more often
not quite sure if I like the way this looks yet , constructive criticism and tips on digital art highly apreciated <3

I really, really, reallyreallyreally WANT TO SEE MOAR DIGITAL ART FROM YOU!!!!! O____O Holy cow this looks awesome! I especially adore the way you've done that eye and the bigger one of her head profiles. It's a great ref sheet. :3 *Steals the picture*
One thing I could suggest is that you could save digital artworks either as .png or .gif -form. Or did you save this as a .jpg? It doesn't matter otherwise, but .jpg's tend to make that pixel goo all around the pic (like around the text and stuff)

You´re right ^^ I hadn´t saved it as a .jpg but as a .bmp ,I now saved and uploaded it again as a .png and it really does look better(take that pixel goo of doom

.jpg , .bmp and evil goo is evil...
btw do you know why that happens? I mean what´s the point of pixel goo anyway,and why would a computer do that when it´s absolutely pointless and it´s actually capable of avoiding the goo as it doesn´t seem to have problems with that when creating a .png or gif. file either?

I'm not too sure why that pixel goo keeps appearing, but I believe the computer packs .bmp:s and .jpg:s into smaller files and that makes them pixelish... o.o' Even .jpg:s can look good (my works here on dA are usually .jpg:s) if they are saved with program like Photoshop which asks with what kind of quality you want to save the file. Highest quality doesn't pack the pic at all, so there's no pixel goo in them. Apparently computers don't have to pack .png:s and .gif:s.
