This is Takeru, the protag of my digimon seires, Digimon RUSH. He's of Japanese blood, but still lives in America, as his parents and his grandpa moved there before he was born. Takeru has experienced a lot of loss in his life. When he was 4, his mom, Yuzu Akagami, died of cancer. And before he turned 8, his dad, Kiryu Akagami, died in a car crash. He's been living with his grandpa ever since. He is best friends with Ren Leonheart.

Takeru is a boy who can get himself easily fired up about almost anything. He's especially fired-up about helping others, but his intense passion makes him a bit of an oddball, causing people to try and distance themselves from him. Fortunately, he's too stupid to be bothered by it. Also, of all things for him to be good at, it's cleaning. Literally, he can get out nearly any stain from clothes and bed sheets, and sometimes without using any special detergent. He's also pretty good at running, which makes him one of the best members of the track team at Hillfield middle school.
The main thing about Takeru is that no matter how many times he's beaten, no matter how many times he's knocked over or worn out, he always gets back up. It's a sheer determination that has helped him through several things.
Still... Takeru has a hard time making friends, mostly b/c he's an odd-one-out. Even with Digi-Rush being so popular, and downloading it would be a golden opportunity to gain friends with a common interest, he doesn't download the thing. "I want to ACTUALLY make friends here! I'm not gonna do that by playing video games!"
But when a certain red reptile enters town, Takeru's opinion just might change...

Takeru is not that big on video games. But now that he has a partner digimon, he doesn't really have much a choice. Now he's struggling to learn how to become better as a true Digidestined. It's unfamiliar territory for this guy. But he won't go down without a fight, and I don't think he'll go down with a fight either.
