Another try from the last Orion picture. UGH.I really think that this one is much better. Sometimes colouring with HUGE headache can make you concentrate more xD
I removed the previous one to scraps, since I didn't want to delete it yet and well, it was work in progress, kinda... e_e;;

I like him. Except for his extremely pointy nipple. He might want to cover that up, it could take someone's eye out. No seriously, it's a treat to publi safety. (okay, havng too much fun with this). Overall, really, really good.

Very hot, the sunburst only adds to the image but does not distract from the subject, na dadds a wonder contrast int he background color.

Reminds me of Falcoon's style--the composition, colors, and coloring style is very similar to his.

It all reads in my journal that I adore Falcoon and I worship him. Sometimes I try to imitate his style to make faces, I never have intention to copy his whole pictures. Sad to hear so that everything in this reminds you of Falcoon, even the colouring style what I never intent to do the same. But oh well, I had just watched over his pictures in his gallery page, so that's why maybe there are really bad influences showing. Of course I try to get rid of imitating his style since I have my own style, but sometimes accepting yourself some changes, imitating someone you adore or switching styles are cheering, because then you can only improve in your own style of art.
Funny how I keep saying this at my journal and explaining in my descriptions that 'yes, this picture here is inspired by Falcoon' and yet people keeps telling me the fact what I already know and what I have explained. And this is also funny how people are satisfied and not saying anything to those artist in DA who literaly copy Hyung Tae Kim's art in every little detail. xD I just find it hilarious.

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to insult you in any way and I apologize for not looking into your background further. I just happened to see this picture in someone's favorites and said what I saw. I also didn't mean to insinuate that you copied him or anything, I just saw a lot of his influence--it's definitely evident that you have your own original style. *nods*
Anyway, imitating is how we grow, like you said. I'm heavily heavily influenced by Falcoon, as well. I visited his website multiple times daily until he changed styles. I wasn't really a fan of that... but I'm still absolutely obsessed with his work--probably moreso than even HTK, even though HTK is probably a little bit better than him.
Alright, I'll make it a point to read all the discriptions before I say anything that might have already been said. Sorry if I bothered you.

I really like the amount of detail that's gone into the hilt of his sword, and the facial expression is very nice. The background does a nice job of giving the eye something else to focus on without being too distracting. Only complaint is that the nipple does look a little weird...like it's just been added-on and not a part of his body. Just a thought...nice work.

The darkened shadows and that sunburst in the background really add to the piece. They make him stand out and just like, pop, dominate the whole thing. Very awesome

I like the shadign with black; it goes well with the black and crimson in the background. And I love how the background's sunburst is closed off, drawing your attention in towards Orion. And I love how you did the bokuto. <3 <3
