Well. I'm a brony. Now you know.Applejack is my favorite. I was feeling a bit crappy, so I figured some pony doodles would cheer me right up. This was supposed to be a cute picture of AJ shaded somewhat seriously. Then [link] happened. So now she looks like she's gonna kick your ass.
I'm happy with it though. I think it looks good.

I really like how it turned out.
It more looks like she COULD kick your ass. Not so much going to.
The only grippe I have with this is the amount of parallels you have in it.
The brim of the hat the upper eye lid the scarf. If they were different angles this would look even better.

Well, my fave is Rarity, but Applejack is my second most fave of the characters

Whoa geez. You weren't kidding when you said she looked serious. I really like how bold the purple shadows are in this headshot, and by giving her a green feather and scarf really tie her overall colour palette together! I think it might be the composition and lineart you've pulled off too, but the jagged/rough look almost seems graffiti-like to me.
I think the only critique I could give (and for all I know it could be the monitor I'm on) is to add darker shades of purple or blue for certain aspects of the shadows. I feel that higher contrast would really make the piece pop off the page.

Dead serious. Because ponies are SRRS business. I can't help but think this looks like a profile shot from a fighting game. Oh thank you, I did feel she would look imbalanced if there was only the green eyes. The hat I just tossed in because I like feathers in hats and it ended up balancing the scarf nicely. And, yeah, I was going for a stylized graffiti-look. might have been thinking of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, a lot of the artwork has outlines like that
Oh definitely, before responding to this, I went in and added some blue, and I really think it deepened the shadows a lot. So that was great.
