That's... really cool actually
I was the one to get my mom into Pokemon ><
I let her use my god-knows-how-old dsi and Pokemon white version, and she loved it
She actually played it quite a bit and she loved all of the tiny creatures she caught
she gave them the most adorable nicknames too >U<
everything was going great with her and the game...

until she promptly left it at an airport
never to be seen or heard from again ;-;

;-; That's too bad... My sister left her childhood diamond game in a restaurant so I had the same problem XD. Yeah, I thought it was cool as well that my mom and dad liked pokemon, actually, I think they said that they played pokemon red on their first date >w<. Then I got pokemon pearl when I was 3 or 4, and my sister got pokemon diamond (Unlike your mom, I gave my pokemons names like: abababbababbababab )
 Then I got the Pokemon mystery dungeon games. After that, every time a new pokemon game comes out, I'll get one version, and my sister will get another.
I remembered when my mom played pokemon (Which now she doesn't because she has four kids to take care of) she would give her pokemon cute french names >U<

she called one of her pokemon "beau" >U<
I have a little brother who doesn't really like Pokemon, so I always get both games when they come out ;u;
i wish i had someone to play Pokemon with

My mom called one of her pokemons beau too XD. And if you ever wanna do a pokemon battle or trade, I would love to play with you :3.
 Too bad you couldn't play with people online in the old pokemon games ;-;

FUNNY STORY

I actually got her into Pokemon by letting her use my god-know-how-old DSi and letting her play Pokemon white version, and she loved it

Well, she's not for everyone. 
I actually have a shiny Floette that I'm going to evolve soon. 
Anyway, I think best things about this picture are the beautiful coloring and the face.
