Practically, pants are means by which humans maintain body heat. Creatively, they are a means of self expression. Psychologically, pant's are also a response to our insecurities regarding our own body images, and stigmas and emotions regarding nudity and sexuality.

beauty of the human body through their artwork.They held no stigmas regarding
The human body(Examples of these found in the ruins of Pompeii)It seems that
only in modern times(Look at the Victorian ages views on sex and nudity)that the
human body became so caught up in our own insecurities.

Yes, indeed. That's the thing about insecurities and stigmas. They change with society. They are difficult to change since they are influenced and reinforced by the majority opinions of a populous. Hence, they usually only change very slowly over time. At the moment, we are still very much affected by the Victorian mindset, and as a result, we still have many of the same insecurities. Although, over a time, some shift from that mindset has occurred.
