I wanted to make the title a bit more interesting other than just having it "Tyrantrum and Tyrunt". I went kinda silly with it though, lol.Anyway, I figure all the Pokemon I've been drawing recently were birds so I did these guys to vary it up a bit.... well kinda. Considering I was just drawing modern avian dinosaurs before, I'm just drawing some non-avian/extinct ones. Anyway, yes I love dinosaurs avian or not, extinct or not. hahaha.
I tried to make them more accurate, I mean, it's not spot-on, but I wanted to keep the traits of the Pokemon themselves. I did fluff them up a bit more. The T-rex was a giant fluff birb with teeth pretty much, haha.

It's not feathered enough and the chin wasn't feathered on dinosaurs, but I am happy too regardless. It's why Archen / Archeops is one of my favourite Pokemon! They're both quite fully feathered, and even if they're based off archaeopteryx, that's a dinosaur anyway. ^^

True, but those could simply be due to rule of cool, which imo is more forgivable with Pokemon than it is with most other fictional representations of animals (i.e., rodents don't usually shoot electricity out of their cheeks, leaf insects don't typically grow five feet tall and have blades for arms, carps don't normally transform into killer dragon-fish monsters, etc.). I can see your point though.
Archen and Archeops are my favorites too! Imo, Archeops also kinda resembles Sinornithosaurus :3

Oh of course, haha. After all, Pokemon are supposed to be fictional creatures, so anything could be done to them really. Which makes me think that if even Pokemon gave T-rex feathers, they're gone far more than many other pop culture representations of dinosaurs. Ahhh I hope accurate dinosaurs will get more recognition in pop culture.
Hehe Archeops reminds me of mircoraptor as well. Actually even though it given off to be based off a archaeopteryx it looks more microraptor or sinornithosaurus to me.

Oh definitely! Maybe Saurian will help with that regard--their T. rex is gorgeous, and since it's a video game whose premise is "You can BE a dinosaur!" I'm sure even the laity will want to play it and not just hardcore paleonuts!
Archeops certainly seems to incorporate a lot of raptorial traits, between the leg wings of Sinornithosaurus and Microraptor (though I suppose those could also be translated as Archaeopteryx's "feather trousers" but they seem too big for that) and the large size, scaly head, heightened intelligence and "pack-hunting" tendencies of pop-culture raptors (at least according to the Pokedex). I kinda wish it had sickle claws though (I tend to draw it with them XD).

Ahh you don't know how excited I am for Saurian! I love the t-rex as well! It looks like a massive killer bird, XD. I hope it becomes very successful, that will be a very good step for getting accurate dinosaurs across pop-culture medium.
Haha I like drawing Archeops with feathers on what appears to be green scales on its head, and the pink part instead of scaled, skinned. I imagine it like a vulture. The sickle claws would make it pretty killer, XD. But if they were following with the archaeopteryx idea they didn't have sickle claws. What gets me is how Archeops can fly, its wings are so small in comparison to its body, haha.

Actually Archaeopteryx did have sickle claws, but they were tiny so it makes sense that people didn't notice it until relatively recently. And I think the flying thing was intentional, especially when you've seen its Gen 6/7 sprite and how derpy it looks XD

Aha, you know I learnt little after I sent that that they had sickle claws. Talking about archaeopterix made me want to read more in depth on them. ^^
Oh yeah, it was, and I have Archeops in my team in Moon. It's funny because it looks like its flapping with all its might to keep in the air. XD

Yeah, I love that sprite X3 It's one of the reasons I can't wait for gen 5 to make it into Pokemon Go (even though I know that's gonna take FOREVER 
I plan on getting Moon too, and while I definitely wanna get an Archeops I'm not sure if I'm gonna have it on my team, partly because I already had one on my team in Pokemon Black and partly because I already kinda have a team planned out (Decidueye, Lycanroc, Toucannon, Vikavolt, Salazzle, Mimikyu).

That's a pretty nice team, going full out with the new gen I see, haha.
My team changes quite a bit but the ones who always stay are Acrheops, Silvally, and Decidueye. I use Toucanon a lot as well but I'll probably take him out when he reaches level 100 and replace him with Braviary.

Omg I love drawing dinosaur/bird feet. Like getting the digit lengths correct and adding the scales and claws, I find it really fun.
Of course I added in more fluff XD I could've done a thin layering of feathers all over the body actually. Suppose I didn't want to go too far from the original design.
