Description This is a long delayed prize for for catching some pageview milestone I hit a while back! It features his undersea superheroine Tsunami and my character Centauri!

I like to put a bit of a storyline into pictures where possible. I figure here that Centauri is on a mission for Thunder Force chasing down a mysterious artefact which has fallen to Earth - and since it landed in the sea, she's called in an old friend to help her track it down!

I assume the suit lets Centauri breath underwater?

...
Sure, I mean, she's been in the vacuum of outer space, so yeah breath underwater.

That was the thought - yes - probably something to do with force fields! Or something! Got to love comic book science

I know! It's got me thinking I need to create an ocean themed character...

That would be cool. Ive got a couple in the works myself...and yeah one of them is a sharkman...or possibly woman.

So does Centauri's suit allow her to breathe underwater and keep her safe from water pressure

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kostmeyer In reply to Lecter-the-Mu [2016-05-08 19:15:40 +0000 UTC]

Yep! I figured that the suit lets her fly in outer space with no apparent trouble, so under the sea wouldn't be a problem! Probably something to do with force fields... or something!

True plus said suit is made from some advanced alien race.

Awesome work, Kost!
The underwater scene came out great and I love your take on Tsunami.

I hope she will get back on the Thunderforce roster some day.

Thanks for the kind words and the - much appreciated BC! Yeah, it'd be great if she came back. Aquatic characters have lots of great visual potential. Lee Gaston's redesign of her costume was brilliant - this one is a bit fiddly for my taste - but it was fun to draw her.

You did an awesome job here, and I really like the sense of floating here. Especially with Tsunami's hair and skirt.

Thanks for the kind words and the Lee - much appreciated! I like the poses and background here - Tsunami's suit is a bit busy for my taste - it wasn't easy adapting it to my style and I cheated a bit by 'suggesting' the armour plates rather than drawing them in! Hair worked well though

Very cool! At first I thought they might be battling each other and was curious to see how Centauri would fight under water, hehe. Love how you captured the under water effect with your coloring!

Kostmeyer In reply to CrimsonVlkyrie [2016-05-08 19:39:47 +0000 UTC]

Centauri should be OK under water, since she's used to outer space, I figured that her suit would look after her down here too! But this is definitely Tsunami's element so I think it would be close! Thanks for the kind words and the - much appreciated!

Thanks a lot for the kind words! Quite enjoyed this one once I'd finally sorted a composition I liked. I like a background with lots of fiddly detail and contrast like this

This was a nice surprise. Very cool job here.Β

I'm guessing it is a little bit easier to draw Tsunami without so many of her tattoos being visible, right?

Kostmeyer In reply to ClockwerkSoul [2016-05-08 13:53:40 +0000 UTC]

That is true! She's a fun character though - even with awkward tattoos! Any plans to bring her back to the DU?

Gonna have her in this month's DU challenge. Depending on what will be doing for the summer, she might make another appearance there too.

Great job with the poses and especially the hair - you really get the sense that they are underwater. Β But no octopus?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kostmeyer In reply to kenfusion45 [2016-05-08 12:32:58 +0000 UTC]

Ha! Yes this scene is crying out for an octopus! But having drawn all that coral I went with the more lazy-artist-friendly 'mysterious glow!' Thanks for the kind words and the - much appreciated!

Got quite a bit done on the Dark Siren picture too - did we come to any conclusion about the opposition?

The mysterious glow does make it more interesting. Β And you are welcome.
