More Vigil Villains! This one was designed by - introducing Gyakusatsu - a pretty nasty character who believes that if he consumes what he kills he gains their abilities. I really like this design - sort of like the Predator in a leather jacket! The modern clothes made me decide to set him in a futuristic city, and his colour scheme is so good I borrowed it for the rest of the picture. Quite pleased with the nifty made up alien language on his electronic wanted poster too, which 'borrows' from 's original picture. Excellent effect on Vigil's appearance! How'd you pull that off? I tried to duplicate it for the Vigil vs Nest picture, but I didn't quite get it right. ^^
One little oddity I find would have to be where it seems you've used a bubble brush on the exhaust fumes to the right...?

No idea which brush I used! Actually I planned on blurring that smoke a bit more and just forgot to finish it! Might go tidy it up later.

Lots of layers! Big circular brsh tool for a blue circle with a slightly smaller white circle inside it. Blur it and then a slightly smaller again circle erased from the middle leaving a clear inside line for the inside of the portal.
The line is just the same thing - a thick blue line with a thinner white line running through it blurred, then the bit that crosses the portal erased, and the ends erased with the eraser set at a very low opacity, so you can gradually erase it until it looks right.

I've been thinking about this for a while, but I can actually see Gyakusatsu fighting 's villain, Miki. For a number of reasons:
1. Contrasting color scheme (Miki is blue/white, Gya is red/black)
2. Both are similar to other pop culture aliens (Xenomorph from 'Aliens' series with Miki, the Predator with Gya)
3. If these two ever met, they would look at each other and think "Wonder what he tastes like?"

I don't think I've seen one bad entry yet in these Vigil Villains, it really is a shame only one of them can win. Imagine a story that had them all in it XD Really love how you've converted Gyaku into your own style, he looks very badarse. I can really see him being a very worthy adversary for Vigil, and love how alien his appearance is. I think he fits right into the world of Vigil, Slamma has done very well with this concept and this picture you've made of him is just as excellent as the character concept.

Thanks for the kind words. It's a nice simple design and they're always fun because it gives you lots of freedom to interpret it in your own style - I'm pretty pleased with how this turned out and I can't wait to get the next batch of voting up and running - two more to go!

I don't hink I said Nejil would be next - I said I was working on that picture, and that's true! I'm working on four of these things at the moment - it just depends which picture 'clicks' next really - I was just in the mood to finish this one. Don't worry, Nejil is in the works and will hopefully be in this round of voting (so one of the next two) I hit a bit of a mental block with it but we'll see how it goes...

Well, since everytime a pic of the two has been drawn so far Nejil has dominated Vigil there, how about going for something else this time?
Does the focus need to be on Nejil alone? Otherwise I would suggest a staredown.

Vigil has always been in the villain pictures in some form - even if it's just as a hologram - so I'll want to continue with that trend here. Staredowns are OK but a bit boring!

Well, how about have Vigil protect herself as Nejil throws lightning bolts at her and, given the background, make Vigil look reluctant to fight her?

Almost. Nejil's weapons are ment to disturb Vigil's focus in order to break through her telekinetic defenses. That includes her suit, too.
