Description At 279 BC an unknown battle took place at the norrow pass of Thermopylae, where king Leonidas & his 300 Spartans, with the 700 Thespiis fought to death two centuries before.
A large number of Gallic hordes commanded by Brennus invaded Greece from the north. Greeks fought to Thermopylae once again but they didn't manage to stop them, even if Galls had great loses.
Galls finally defeated at Delphi, very near at the famous oracle.

It's before the invasion-migration of the Gallateans, no? the ones who settled in modern Turkey?

very good work indeed. Just on the historical note, some of the sources say the gauls were not defeated and indeed ransacked the Delphi oracle and eventually moved to Asia Minor to a region later called after them - Galatea.

Yep, i 've read that too... It is said that a series of strange & really peculiar events frightened Gals near Delphi oracle, in conjuction with the menace of some Greek city states citizens (men & women), that have been seen even their babies slaughtered from them...
One way or another it is a story worthy to be known.

Thx for your comment.
