Here's Alto (Macross Frontier) and Kanda (D.Gray-Man) wearing each others' clothes. :3 I've heard people mentioning they look alike, and I'm not gonna deny it. They have several things in common, 'cept (most of) their character. xD

The first time I saw Alto I totally thought:
"OMG he looks like Kanda. I have to watch this show."
No, that was just a joke. I watched it because of the music in the story and because I was obsessed with Mechas at that time (blame Gundam SEED). In the end I didn't like Alto this much. Dunno why. But he really looks good in your pic

I know a friend who started watching D.Gray-man because Kanda looked like Alto (whom she knew I liked). |D She started to watch the series in the same week as I did, so that was awesome. |D; I started watching MF because I liked Alto on the cover of an anime magazine I had. I'm usually not into mecha, but MF was a pleasant surprise. The music is great and captivating. And all by all, the story was quite good as well. Though I wasn't too happy with the triangle outcome (more pro AlRan, you see), the series was a very enjoyable watch. :'D
Alto's a jerk, when it comes down to it, but I still like him. |D

I didn't like it either, though that's to be expected from an anime which is mainly aimed at young men? (Although I heard that MF is generally more popular with the female audience. |D)
Pretty much, yes. Although the first movie had a LOT of AlRan moment. |D But second one was all Sheryl. I kind of felt bad for Ranka though when Alto turned her down.
I lost the count of how many times I listened to those songs and (tried to) sing along.
It was very colourful and sparkly. |D I guess it's to be expected when you used nebulae and what not as backgrounds. (look at the pictures of the Hubble telescope.)

Yeah, the triangle outcome was pretty stupid. Actually I didn't really care whom Alto should end up with since I liked both Sheryl and Ranka. I didn't like the fanserviceness (just a random word) with which they were presented though.
In my opinion it was AltoxSheryl in the movies and AltoxRanka in the series. Everyone is happy then, nee? ;D
But the show itself especially the music was quite enjoyable.
The only thing I didn't like were the shiny colors. I like colorful but not this kind of colorful ( just my taste)

Quite the opposite. XD Though they're both stubborn, Alto is pretty kind and easy to hang out with. He's also easy to manipulate in some ways, as he finds it hard to say no. |D He hates being called "hime"/ "princess", and snaps when someone dares to make any comment about how feminine he is.
