This is very popular way in Japan.
Black thing is pot bottom net.

the tutorial was very helpful bhut i cant seem to find the pot bottom net you show here...when i look it up i get planting pots instead of sheets of mesh?

Sorry, the pot bottom net is very common item in Japan.
I think you can use plastic canvas, something like that.
There are many thing can be used in fursuiting. Please discover.

Ooh, I like this method. I always feel too uncomfortable making the base too blocky and simple as I do not work well with foam shaping.

Personally, it makes more sense in my mind than any other technique I've used in the past. Thank you so much for putting this up. <3 I'm terribly excited to try this now!

Thank you very much for sharing! Instead of the newspaper-build-up you could use cley, this way it would be easier to model the head. But I really like it, uses the best of a lot of different techniques I think I'm gonna use that one one day

hmmm.. I think clay is unsuitable.
Because to make shape just as head base, I must push pot bottom net little hard.
but If there are other good ways, let me know^^
