what is an art trade? is it where you draw pictures, then trade the oc's in it?

No, no you silly goose it's when two people agree to draw something of the others choosing.
I never really thought why it's called an art trade i guess you "trade" off with the other artist since you are not doing it out of kindness nor did you get money for it, the other persons artwork is your payment.

I like all your pony designes, they're just so original but still have this sweet charm. What program do you use? Photoshop or something like Corel?

Thank you, I've been very inspired by the the more outlandish and experimental MLP artists and I'm glad that in your eyes I've captured the ponies charming nature!
I use the current version of gimp, it's completely free as well!
Honestly Photoshop and corel have their places but i rather a program that is simpler to use and offers a large chunk of what Photoshop does. Makes work more streamlined!

Sorry for my late reply. Yes, you sure can show the charm and that retro/first gen./ pony magic and that's what I really appreciate. And I find it as a really great piece of art. It's not really that difficult to draw a pony in it's original show style. Let's face it, there are so many g4 styled ponies around it's hard to tell which artist they belong to, while your style in this case is really memorable.
I don't want to sound like a critic but I think the vector, minimalistic style suits you better than the one you used in this piece [link] but it's always a good thing to experiment that's just my personal opinion since I'm really impressed with how you can keep it simple but still very rich. I hope I make sense.
And I must try gimp one day as well, I've heard a lot about it but since I have both photoshop and corel I never really gave it much thought. Though it's troublesome having these seperate programs and constantly switching and saving when there's a need for adding little things when you can have most of it in one.

Thank you very much!
You know sometimes being a critic is a good thing, an artist all ways needs one. mm, i know my line-less style is a very good consistent style but you know as you say it's a good thing to experiment, I'm not very good with Sai right now but the program might offer a lot of things that Gimp wouldn't in the future!
I understand your strife with switching programs, i don't really know how you work but gimp may not be the most advanced program for your work, looking at how how you colour and such, but don't let that discourage you from trying it out!

True. Well as we agreed-it's good to experiment and in my opinion, an artist should try as many artistic media as he/she can. In our time it's mostly computer programms which are also the future of art and life itself, no doubt about it.

So yes, let's make our best and level up
