Chief Thunder is one of those characters I'm a little torn on; he's a Gratuitous stereotype but he's too awesome to dislike
So I decided that if I couldn't change his appearance, I'd change his personality; in my images he's a Lightning Elemental like Raiden only he isn't based on shinto Buddhist mythology
this picture was made because my Thunder player [returning from last session] didn't know what a "pinup" was and since his team lost my general idea was to give them pin-ups to hang on their wall instead of dynamic images [to hang on their wall]
hope it's alright although he still doesn't come forward as much as I would've liked DX

That's a pretty noble approach to this character, which is why I'm glad you went with the Original KI cast instead of the sequel fighters: much more memorable and dynamic. I'm sure we touched on this before, but the simple fact that we never had a personalities shoved in our faces for these characters, there's a pretty open field for creative liberty. I can see the trouble you had in making Thunder himself come forward a bit more, as the background colors are already browns and desaturated hues.
The only opening I can see for that matter is perhaps a little more difference in the level of detail between "layers." It's still a solid image, and I'm particularly intrigued by the very defined cloud shape at the very top. Very nice element =3

the cast from KI2 were painfully generic and boring, also I hated how they made them all Pseudo-anime cartoony with freakishly large heads and hands 
[also you notice how no one drew Jago's face like he had a face under his mask?]
I wanted to darken the background for that purpose but there were certain elements in the picture that didn't look right falling behind Thunder
using a gradient for those mountains with gradation infused in the line work probably made this more difficult. the cloud is a nice approach I agree

I was going to add lightning, but that sort of kills this composition
