Ryo was originally from the adventure universe(Not joking), he was introduced in the Wonderswan games as the 9th chosen child, and his crest is stated to be the crest of desire but we never see what its design is. Its more like he is in exile and that's why he is in Tamers, he also has amnesia I am not joking once again this is official cannon information.
Ryo appears in Digimon Adventure 02 in Ken's flashback, and also in the Digimon film

Awesome! He's one of my favourite digimon and you did a great job illustrating all of his details and giving him a dynamic pose. ^^
If you'll ever draw him together with Ryo, that would make me super happy (I barely ever see any art of them, because Ryo was a bit of a jerk in the anime. But in the original games he was absolutely amazing, and I consider him the "behind the scenes protagonist"). Seeing this already made me really happy!
