Description TADUR! My Momba custom! Boy was this gal a pain…but in a good way! I actually didn’t mind it too much. Lots of learning and getting over hesitations.

So, she was a base Ghoulia (thank you Black Friday!) I recolored her hair with purple Sharpie. Took me oh…3 hours, maybe more, and lots of brain cells XD;; I then washed her hair after letting it sit for a bit, to reduce the excess ink. Yeah…turned out being a little bluer than I’d wanted, but I like it,

Then the job of styling. I’d wanted to French braid it to mimic her snake pattern but it just failed (course it didn’t help that my sister had to teach me how to do it before I started ) So I tried that several times, didn’t like any of it. I debated just doing several little braids, but the ink was really rubbing off still, so I came up with this style. I might still braid the ends of the tails, but I still like this. I did consider sculpting her hair, but I saw a female gorgon custom with real hair recently so I thought I’d try it.

And then the repainting. I was trying to avoid it, since FBRs were deterring me, and Ghoulia was gray which was close to Momba’s purple (in my head not on paper ) but theink from the hair was getting everywhere. So I caved to a FBR. I started first with a light purple that was nearly gray, but I didn’t like the looks of it so I mixed this lovely purple and went to town it’s not my smoothest FBR, but it was a great learning experience and has eased by fear of FBRs on MH dolls. She does have chipping on her stress points, and since she’s a darker purple it is noticeable. But idm. She’s fully sealed as well, and since I cannot find the Duraclear Matte Sealer ANYWHERE (it does exist though!) I used my satin so she’s a little shiny I blame being a snake

Her eyes were an accident and I love them. I was filling in the original ones, and I thought the blue outline really made the peony pop. I also super proud of those eyebrows-totally freehanded

Clothing wise I modified a spare Cleo set and added the DotD Lagoona sarong. I don’t plan to change Momba’s clothes that much because of her FBR and the stress to the joints. As it is putting those shoes on her scratched her toes a bit, and what with it being a custom color I can’t do touch ups. But I like the outfit; it suits her well enough.

So that’s my Momba ^^ First FBR, second Sharpie hair coloring; first on a MH doll. I’m very proud of her even though she isn’t perfect ^^

And I know my Neffie is super happy too I am a dork

Well I tried to French braid it but it wasn't giving the effect I wanted because it needed to be at such a small scale

i staed in the description I used a Sharpie. i've recolored adoll before with a Bic, but it took like 4 pens, while i think with eth Sharpie it was...oh...maybe one and a half. I had an older pen, and a brand new one, so i used up the old one first

nope. i colored the hair dry. the ink is already wet...idk the ink would stick well to wetness...but i did carefully rinse it after it was all colored...check my gallery, i did a semi-step by step process for her
