I decided to do up designs for the monster families in my style because if I ever do a comic I’ll need designs. (yeah don’t hold your breath about a comic
)So this is Frankie’s family: Meet the Steins
-Frank N. Stein: yes I know, not the most original renaming, but it works. I combined several different versions I’ve seen over the years, though since they’re all so similar, of course he’d look similar. You can’t redo Frankenstein all that differently…
-Frankie Stein: her skin came out too yellow here…
-Marishell Stein: yes I named the Bride; I combined Mary and Shelly. I actually didn’t have a reference for her until after I’d inked most of her; she nearly ended up with white hair with black streaks
Even though Frankie was literally “made”, I tried to give her elements from both parents.

how did you learn to draw like that, if you don't mind me asking?

I just did I guess. I referenced many styles over the years, tried to mimic some and just incorporated things into my style as the years progressed. I was very influenced by Butch Hartman, but also many other artists have been inspiration over the years too. Basically I'm just self taught mostly, and very good at mimicking and adapting.

I don't know why, but I always thought that Frankie would've been made by Dr Frankenstein rather than his monster.............

yeah i know, and there's really nothing in the written to say oen way or th eotehr, but most people forget that the doctor was named frankenstein, and since all the kids are children of the *monsters* i just went this way. in more modern frankenstein adaptations the monster is very smart, so it's not outside the realm of possibility that he could be a scientist too.

True. Though there's more evidence in the diaries about Frankie's mom being a monster. Though the fact the her dad was more worried about her getting wet than himself gives some clue too. *shrugs*
