Description I loved drawing this up in class.

I hated inking it.

I got really borded by the time it came to shading.

I think this'll be the last time I ever use this style of coloring, though it may be 'quick'. The results aren't worth the extra hour, half hour I get out of it. Inking takes ages, shading's too quick.
I think I'll stick to improving digital painting and proper cell drawings.

Hope you get a smidgin of enjoyment out of it.
I think it could have turned out better.

Idea was fun though so...

"A little known fact to most historians is that the 'hip hop' Genre of music was origionaly started by the Godly trio known as the 'NileCrew'. Unfortunately an unimaginative name and the fact that it's terribly hard to rap in Egyptian led to a slow and rather unnoticed downfall.
And so this trio decided to follow their friends and family into god-dom, influecning the cosmos perhaps, but leaving the roots of Hop with the hipsters of the future"

I'm crazy..I know.

It could have come out better. You're right. But the idea,..

I never thought that Anubis would work so well as an MC of da killa streets of Kiaro... Excellent stuff.

Snarfevs came up with the name the 'lyrical papyri'

which suits the egyptian theme perfectly.

Ohhh I'd better not get too indepth or I'd go on for an entire chapter.
But a basic....left to right.

Now you'll have to understand that these names and area's of expertee are subject to change. I mean...you do tend to get alot of difference in religions over seven thousand years...so...here's the version I'm most familiar with.

Hathor: Goddess of fertility and family. Represented by either a cow (lol...their fertility goddess is a cow ) or a goddess with a corned crest (liek the ones coming out the side of her hat).

Anubis: JAckal God of embalming and the underworld (travel to...not of...). He was the deity who preformed the origional mummification (presevation of the corpse after death).
THe egyptians beleive that the body traveled to the afterlife as well as the spirit. Your soul would continue on and be judged to see wether you did good in your life. Your 'Ba' guided you to the afterlife and guards your tomb, and your 'Nu' inhabits your body after your spirit has moved on.
In the afterlife you 'heart' was weighed against the feather of 'ma'at' (truth). Ansestory gave you 21 questions about wether you were naughty or nice. If you were good you passes on to the 'feilds of peace'.
If you were bad your heart and spirit were eaten by the demon Ammut and you simply ceased to exist...literaly...gone...no memory...no continuance just one big bloody attacka nd poof you no longer..well...are.
Embalming preserves your body for this whole ritual.
Too bad they got it wrong.
Sure the heart is left behind, all other organs were drid and placed into canopic jars (pretty lil clay jugs ). But they thought the brain was just stuffing for the head so they took it out through your nose and threw it away....poor Nu...no barin for it

Thoth: Finially Thoth. Ibis god of Wisdom, knowlege and the moon. It was belived that Thoth taught people the art of heiroglyphs and literature. Granted the knowlege of creation and construction and generaly mad eus the upstanding creative lot we are today.
Was the god of the moon because his beak was sorta shaped like a cresent moon....

Oh and in egyptian society Black = good and red = bad.
Black is good cause the new soil is black and fertild
Red is bad cause it represent the dessert O,o;

Hope that was an interesting read Michi

OH MY GOD I MUST FAV THIS!!!!!!!
This is awesome! Anubis, Bastet and Horus (is it thoth or Horus?) as rappers! Booyakasha!
I actually had similar ideas-the 'Bling Tut Pyramid Posse' was one, where Anubis would be like a 'pimp daddy', and then there was the Egyptian gods rock band...I've even written an Egyptian rap!
Great idea though...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kraden In reply to Neopatra-Isis [2004-11-27 04:31:48 +0000 UTC]

The gods are (Left to right).

Hathor (God of fertility)
Anubis (God of mummification etc.)
Thoth (God of wisdom and writings)

You made an egyptian rap
Like...about egypt or in egyptian?

And are you part of the 'templeofNetji' as well?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Neopatra-Isis In reply to Kraden [2004-11-27 10:06:53 +0000 UTC]

Yes I am a Temple of Neter member. That's how I discovered this...

There are several raps-one is about going on holiday to Egypt (something I would love to do) and seeing all the sights. The other is called 'can you dig it' its an archeologist's rap and then there's 'Hey Ra'-which is of course an Egyptian style version of Hey Ya by Outkast! I should post that because I like that one best...
I've also got so many ideas for modern day gods in humourous/parodical situations...like in film posters and bands and so on...
